    2008 TT brakes squeeling

Does anyone know why brakes would squeel? While the TT's slowing down they are silent, but when the car is just about to stop as I ease off the brake pedal the brakes make a squeeling sound. Does anyone know a quick fix or should I take it in 4 service? TThanks, RRTT

Brakes squeek. It sucks, but its a way of life. If you bring in your car to "fix" the squeek, it will be uneeded labor upon the dealer as it is a normal occurrence. And if everybody did that, then all of our cars will be much more expensive to makeup for everyone bringing in their car to fix the brake noise.

Not to be harsh, but you'll learn to live with it if you want decent pads that can actually stop a car and not fade after a 3mph stop.

Common. Keep the wheels clean and use brake and wheel cleaner. You could change pads, but nearly all hiperf sets SQUEAL some.

Make sure you've bedded them in well, making progressively harder stops to get the heat up and burn off the glaze. Best we can offer. Silent brakes rarely perform as well.
