    Siemens 380CC injectors

I'm currently Apr stage 1, bought these injectors because I wanted to go Stage 1+. Called to make the appointment and now the shop is telling me that these injectors won't work. In addition shop said that with these injectors there will be hesitation, and inaccurate throttle response. Is this true or do they just want me to buy injectors thru them?

I've searched and theres B6's running 225tt, genesis, siemens and I think Delphi's.

    Thanks for all the help.

They're full of shit. I've been running thouse for over a year. Many more people here do as well. The only negative thing about Siemens injectors that they require spacers.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what do the spacers look like and where would I be able to pick some up?

    Re: Siemens 380CC injectors

As far as I know, there's no problem with you running those injectors. I'm about to get a set myself and although I'm going with Revo. There are plenty of guys here that are running those injectors on APR software. The only thing that I've heard negative about the Siemens is that the idle will be a bit rougher because they're single spray instead of dual. I've talked to a couple of people that have the Siemens and they haven't experienced any problems with that.
Did they say what injectors that they wanted you to use?
If it's really that big of a deal, there are some Genesis injectors for sale in the classifieds right now. You can get those if you want. No spacers required.

Well, just looked on ECS site. Looks like they redid the core on those, so no more spacers requirement. If you do buy them used however, make sure, because if they're older like mine you will need spacers - little alluminun washer looking rings, they actually came with injectors when i bought them.

Now, they do say now that, these are incompatible with APR stage 1. So if thats what you're doing your shop was right after all.

You can get them from just about any of the companies who are listed in the mall section of this site. Look at the section titled Tuning Shops/Resellers.

That says that it's only incompatible for 2002. It also says that they don't require spacers. Call them if you want to double check though.

Put them in Thursday and got flashed at night. Works like a charm all I needed was fuel rail spacers. Shops somethimes want to rob you like your blind.

    Re: Siemens 380CC injectors

The fact that the Siemens injectors don't have the correct dual spray pattern angled to work optimally with the intake port layout of the 1.8T cylinder head, is a deal killer as far as I'm concerned.

The Bosch TT225 injectors have the correct spray pattern that was extensively developed by the factory. While the single spray pattern Siemens injectors "work", there are several important aspects that compromise best performance compared to the Bosch TT225 injectors that provide the exact fuel spray distribution pattern needed for best overall operation in the 1.8T.

    Re: Siemens 380CC injectors

True about the spray pattern, but they do use a very wide spray instead. I've been running Seimens 630s for qutie some time now without any idle issues. Greg even runs the shitty 440 green tops without any problems. Those things spray like one of those shower heads on TV that are clogged with minerals from water.

LOL! that's one way of describing the 440 Siemens spray pattern! Yeah, the wide single cone fuel spray will result in a lot more intake runner/port wall fuel wetting than the correct dual cone spread angle spray pattern provided by the stock or TT225 injectors, as well as less fuel atomization by the single spray injector. When there is uncontrolled port runner wall wetting from fuel spray impingement, in-cylinder fuel mixture control will be effected negatively more or less depending on severity, (extra injected fuel mass needed to insure adequate rich fuel air ratios at full boost, to prevent detonation etc,) and the worst effects are at cold start up, that is what is mainly involved with the cold start lean misfire and other running problems (reduced fuel economy for example,) that occur with the non Bosch injectors.
