    Re: APR Tuning chip

Best thing to do is check www.goapr.com regularly for their sales. If you can catch the "Fully loaded ECU for the price of 1 program"...that's a heck of a deal. You get multiple programs (Stock, 91, 93, 100) as well as security lockout for the price of one.

    Re: APR Tuning chip

I paid like $500 for mine. I didn't even bother with the stock program cause I don't have to worry about that. I went with 93 octane and called it a day. it was the best money I spent on the car until I got exhaust and fuel pump, now that's the best money I've spent on this car.

Anddddd another rich kid spoils the good name of the hardworking Audi drivers.

Just a tip, dont advertise that you're gonna hit MOM up to buy your APR chip. Most of us get money by going to work everyday...

You have a pretty sick car for having no job. Congrats to your parents on all their success.

    Re: APR Tuning chip

Try GIAC and Revo too. There are several people on the forum who aren't exactly happy with their APR Software. I've been in an A4 with APR and GIAC-X. GIAC-X Felt smoother. If I get chipped again, I'm going with GIAC-X. However, I think that coil overs with a RS4 rear sway bar do more for the performance of the car. I think that actually makes the car fun to drive. The chip makes it faster, but the suspension and the sway bar produce significantly less body roll and really reduces the over steer. I love the way the car drives, and I'm no rush to get a chip. I just don't drive fast enough, aggressive enough to need it. Think about that stuff too. It's fun....but what are the benifits aside from being able to get up to speed faster? None really.

Majority of people who are handed everything in life generally do not appreciate thier fortune as well as they should. I myself wish I knew the value of a dollar better. But this guy should not be looking to get it cheaper, because it's not going to happen. Mine cost $756; the guy cut me a deal because I had to drive 3 hours to get it done.

wow..this little informative forum turned into a bashing for this kid..

just help him out and dont knock him..hes trying to rep audi and he wants to go out hard..
    anyway...
you might want to do a few things to your car before you actually chip it that will play into your results.. ^ and the intake is one of them..

I agree.. Unless you track your car or are an experienced driver (not under 18) a chip is a killer mod, literally. Im turning 17 pretty soon and I know I would never need my car to be any faster, but for it to handle and look better? fuck yes.

So from one spoiled asshole teen to another(maybe?idk), drop your hopes on this mod because it is very possible for you to end up totaling your car going 140 on the highway.

suspension and cosmetics are what you should be looking at IMHO

From one spoiled teen to another that totaled a car doing exactly what i'm about to say, if you have no self-control driving any car regardless of performance you get what's coming to you. So enjoy life and make your car faster if you want.

Hate to break it to you but a chipped, 250hp, 3600lb b7 isn't fast. It's peppy.

If he's responsible, he'll be fine. My first car was a '95 rx7 and I'm not dead (despite what everybody at rx7club told me).

    Re: APR Tuning chip

I guess its all about the driver.. Im just thinking about a kid I know whos dad let him drive his 08 g37s all the time.. and now both axles are broken and he added the telephone pole mod to his bumper

I mean you should be fine.. Sometimes I drive a sl55 amg, cl550, supercharged range, or a DB9 (when Im lucky) which are all insanely fast compared to my b7 and it just takes responsibility i guess

The AWD will help keep you safe. I can really only break traction when its raining pretty hard. The chip is exactly what this car needs. As far as everyone knocking you for getting a car, fuck'em. Thats hate at its best. I had my first Audi bought for me by my parents. But my last two ive bought myself. Nothing wrong with that!
