    Exclamation Weird problem

So i just got a Clutchmasters Stg3 with the 6-puck disk installed from WMS since my old clutch blew up on me for no reason and its been working great, vibration is at a minimum now since ive been driving more than enough since the date of installation.

I got more news of crap my car is doing with the note that my front and rear seals are shitty, the manifold is dumped with oil, and driver side turbo had oil leaks. "You've got probably till December before your turbo goes. Just letting you know "

The crap aside, i tried calling Mike earlier today to see if he knew what the problem was with my boost but no one picked up so maybe you guys know...

4 days after getting the clutch installed (mind you, its still the stock FW but scuffed so its drivable again) everything is running great, and i was mildly boosting in 4th gear going home from school. Then i put a little more gas into it, and it pulled back off the boost and i felt a slight loss in power. Then afterwards, boost was gone for like 10 minutes then suddenly came back later.

Today i noticed that after a good warmup there was NO boost at all. I got the ASP flash from WMS a few weeks ago too...and It felt stock (or like it at least) for a good 10 minutes till i got onto the freeway. Another 5-10 minutes and boost is still absent. So i said fuck it and put on the A/C as it was swamp-ass hot outside, and going to Brea from Montebello with the windows down the whole time isn't very comfortable. So anyways, i was in 6th gear pretty much the whole way there, then for some reason as im trying to pass a car, i notice the car is boosting again as if nothing was wrong.

Turn off the car for about 2 hours, and try and run it normally again on the way back. SAME PROBLEM. This time it was for about 20 minutes before boost came back.

Couple hours later and like 20* cooler, i start the car and it boosts fine from the get go.

I dont fucking get this car. =(

    *Note*
Some one told me it might be my plugs but i just had them changed the same day the clutch was put in.

    Re: Weird problem

Do you have a boost gauge? Or are you telling by just how strong it pulls.

    Have you vag'd it?

I know I had a simular problem, I have a guage though, it would boost normally at times then other times only boost to 5-7 psi (basically limp mode)

I vag'd it and found that it had a bad EGT sensor. It would work intermittently which is why sometimes it boosted normal and other times it didnt. I replaced this and now it runs great.

So I would first get it vag'd. In fact to me if you have an Audi S4 I would buy a cable so you can check for codes yourself, it will save you lots of money in the long run.

I just bought a odb-2 cable off ebay and have an older version of vag-com. Works great for me.

If you get the cable and need the vag-com software pm me I can help you with that.

    Re: Weird problem

Well i know i needed to get a boost gauge considering its chipped n all (and for the knowledge of being accurate) but since the ASP flash ill WOT with it and around 3k i feel that extra "push" from the increased PSI but as of late its been really off and on with boost.

I vag'd it about a week ago and everything was fine. Mike at WickedMotorsports checked it too and said there wasnt an issue.

In regards to the EGT, that was an issue i had addressed a month ago and had it replaced. But you know what though....arent there two EGT's in the car?? If i remember correctly, someone on the forums stated the car had two. Unless the other is going bad now, i couldnt see as to why its doing this.

Im not getting any CEL's and ive got a guy with the VAG-COM who does it for free for me. Soo i dunno..

I know this isnt related at all to the topic, but the other day some asian guy in a black stg.3 S4 went down my street for a friend's party and i went to talk to him after he'd parked. After conversing for a while, I found out he was the owner of Liquid Crack apparel. Pretty random.

    Re: Weird problem

    There are 2 egt's.

passenger side is much easier to replace.

Also you may not throw a CEL even with a bad EGT. I didnt. but it still came up when I vag'd it.

So maybe the other one is going now.
