    Help with a decesion...

I love my A4 but realy want some more power. So here is the question, should I trade my modded 2006 a4 for a 2005.5 or 2006 s4.

You already have a RS4 in your garage. Go drive that.

You'll get a lot of opinions on this, but difference in power isn't really that much IMO, plus you'll (well the car) will gain some weight. Isn't VF coming out with a GT28 kit? I'd say its only worth it for the seats.

I never regret going from my A4 to my S4 (despite the weight/gas consump/etc).

Or just steal your Dad's RS4!

Not to be a ball breaker but instead of buying cars why dont you move or buy property because by writing rs4,ml550 etc in your garage it means that you live with your folks. I had to make that choice a few years back keep the a4 and move or s4 and stay at folks. Glad I took option 1 Ive never look back since then. Lots of opportunties out there in the us....thinking about it sell the a4 buy a civic. Thats my IMO..Im ready to get flamed. Ive been there done that I was parking my new a4 and new R6 in my parents driveway who lives in a middle class neighborhood(the most expensive car on the street beside my car was a Honda Odyssey). I understood that it made no sens
Bottom line living at parents with a hot car=failure

Dont your dad have an RS4 you can borrow once in a while(your garage)
Im not knocking on you but go on your own youll appreciate things more after. I dont know how old you are but youre a4 already seems like a sweet car.

I feel like an old fart with my speeches but damn I should have listened to older people a few years back Im still 24 but I could have been better off if I didnt waste all this cash on cars and bikes by changing every couple of months modding them....let alone all the rest. I would be posting on 6speedonline.com instead LOL....depressing

Owning fast/nice cars when your old doesn't have the same feel. Albeit I do agree with you, I find if I can stay within my means I can still buy property and have a nice car. I just eat Raman.

Thats why I have a 135I and jetta and not an rs4(my dream car)....95K plus 13% taxes here
Ill wait for a cpo one within 6 months and park it in my own garage like Ive been doing for the past 3 years. But if I ever happen to see a financial opportunity Ill can the 135 and drive the jetta in order to take the opportunity to make more $. There is no shame on a little step behind sometimes to go higher after.

I hear you there..I had my 92TTZ32 up until about 3 years ago because a new hot car was not w/in my means. When i did sell it and picked up my Z06 i made sure i was able to afford it and only financed about 60% of the purchase price and i picked it up used to avoid the depretiation hit. Now that i have a kid it doesn't make sense to have two cars anymore so now i'm shopping S4's.. You gotta live w/in your means.

I still miss that car though..

The more important question is do you have a job which can support your lifestyle without the help of mom & dad? Upgrade your life before you upgrade your already nice car.

No one else mentioned this, but your insurance and money spent on fuel is going to climb.

Plus, unless you toss down $10k for AWE's S/C, you're not going to move far from the 340hp. So make sure you're happy with it.

We dont know the Op's life but listing the parents car(not cheap cars)is an indication that he gets to drive them. It would be good for him to go on his own and live the real life. Ive seen my fair share of spoil brats. Always winning never happy. Reality is that an a4 is more than the average joe can afford. I used to say my bt a4 was slow. After borrowing my dad's Nissan I was enjoying the a4 more than ever. Doesnt mean he has to suffer and struggle like some guys did here. To the OP its your call but if some strangers are taking some of their time and giving me some tips I would listen carefully. Its your money your call but were trying to avoid you the mistakes that we did. You could stay home buy something and rent it out or invest...

I used to laugh at my dad old shitbox that he kept for nine years...When I moved I realized what real people were going through paying for food, taxes ,cable, phone. Thats why now I dont do dumb things like I used to do.

I have never understood kids who choose to live at home with their parents. I moved out at 18 and have never looked back. The independance and freedom of living on your own is priceless and will last a lifetime. However, cars like women will come and go.

Lolz at living on welfare while you drive an RS4 and spend what has to be ~$15k on mods. And then you put down "the average American schmo" on a public forum? Funny.

Your parents should've helped you by investing in your education instead. At least you'd know that capitalizing the first letter of every word is not proper grammar. My 9 y/o daughter writes better than you.

The one thing I do agree with is that it's smarter to stay on cash or invest rather than spend money on toys in the present economic climate. Lot's of opportunity out there.

To each his own, but in the long run a property investment would go a lot farther than getting a nice new car. I'm sure you can save a lot living at home, but I say keep the A4 and make a lot more money off of buying a place. With the way the economy is now getting rid of a paid off car would still end in a loss. Buy a house now, and sell high later.

Let's put the money thing aside for a second and get right to it:

You're an adult male living in your parents' house. They make movies about that. Comedies.
