no c5 rs6 avants were brought to the US. there is a handful that were imported but are crazy expensive. you can legally import them over, just none were sold here

    Re: rs6?

Get a 2003/2003 S6, and do the front and rear bumper conversion, about as close as you will get, minus the bi-turbo V8, you will just have the 4.2.

    Re: rs6?

Very expensive motor to maintain. Timing belt changes will run you about $2500, and are done at every 35K, so twice as expensive, and twice as soon. Brakes will run you $1500-$1800 per axle. There are several parts on that motor that are only reachable by dropping it, so you are looking at $2000 plus to just change O2 sensors when they go out. The DRC system is about a 90% sure thing to go out on most cars over 60K miles, and is very expensive to repair. It is a great car, and a rare breed, it is what drew me to it, but after doing months of research, and talking to Audi mechanics, because of the lack of DIY work on the car, I decided to pass on it.

Good Luck, and check out www.RS6.com for more research, you can find the good the bad, and the ugly on this beast.

thank you very much raudis6 and what you just told me is what might make me buy the s6 instead. i have a b7 a4 thats my project car i just need to find a winter car fast, so i was thinking bigger and better but maintaince on a rs6 just might be too much. but ill keep looking but ill prob settle for a s6 i just need to test drive to feel the power

    Re: rs6?

I love my S6, as it is still a rare car, only about 1200 ever brought to the USA, and at 340hp, has plenty of power for a daily driver, there is also a ton of room inside. The motor is pretty bullet proof I have my stage 3 S4 when I need to go whoop on some EVO's or M3's Do it, join the club.

    Re: rs6?

    I've seen more RS6's than S6's. In fact, I think I've only seen 1 S6 before.
    Stick with a S6 or an A6 4.2. I love my 4.2

    Re: rs6?

Until we organized the little impromptu photo shoot above, I have never seen another S6 in the last 2 years.

Plenty of S6 in San Francisco. One lives two blocks from my house.
Get a 2.7t allroad and make it a bastardized RS6. Already has the wide body and twin snails.

When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.
