about to purchase rs4 bumper kit...

Hey everyone, my 2002 S4 was involved in a front end accident and after the estimate that the shop gave me, I am leaning towards purchasing an rs4 bumper kit. I am just wondering where you all purchased your kits from and how much for. This is the estimate the shop is giving me:

    OEM Bumper cover S4 $660
    RT Energy absorber S4 $122.98
    LT Energy absorber S4 $122.98
    Spoiler $75.63
RT Outer grille 2.7 liter $61.05
LT Outer grille 2.7 liter $0.00 (the 61.05 is for both of the outer grilles)
Center grille S4 $53.07 (the center bumper grille, not the grille that is part of the hood)
    License bracket S4 $110.18

I also need to replace one fog light. Anyways, these prices are obviously pretty high (total cost is 1205 before paint). However I don't believe the rs4 kits out there include the energy absorbers (I have two from shokan that I can get for 80 each, so that is not too big of a deal). Anyways I've heard that you can get rs4 bumpers for about 1k new, so I am just wondering which parts of these are included in the 'kits' (I am under the assumption that all of them except the energy absorbers, which I can get from shokan). Sorry for the 'noob' question, I am just fairly new to audi repairs and don't know exactly what to expect.

    Thanks in advance,
    Matt

oem rs4 front is not a direct bolt on, but since you are going to a body shop it should not be to hard for them. check the oem plus thread. you can source the bumper there.

Suggestion - contact Brian at Avalon Motorsports (www.avalonmotorsports.com) - he really knows his stuff and should be able to set you straight on this.

    Rides:
    '06 S4 Avant, silver/black w/ alcantara, w/ V8 goodness - new DD (finally back in an S!)
    '07 A4 Avant 2.0TQ S-line & Ti, I-white/black (unicorn?) - w/ APR goodness, old DD, now beach-mobile
    '93 BMW 850ci, FE Red/Black - major garage queen

    Previous:
    '01.5 S4 Avant, Silver/Onyx (Sold...miss it a whole lot )
    '98 BMW 328ic, Cosmos/Grey/Black (Sold...miss this one a whole lot, too)

FYI Avalon doesn't have the best pricing for OEM RS4 front kits, call SPP, they quoted me like 850 for just OEM RS4 front bumper skin.....another suggestion, try and find some of those items used. You are getting it painted anyways, so any scratches can be fixed and you will get the fogs for about 1/2 price, as well as the stock grills. Hell, I have both of the side grills.

Also, add $350-$500 in body work onto the total for the RS4 front kit. It is about a 6-8 hour job of heat molding the front bumper to fit our US Sedan version S4's.....the bumper is made to fit a Euro avant which is a widebody, FWIW

Avalon usually has the lowest price anywhere. I would call both places and see what they say but either way, you are cutting it pretty close cost wise with the estimate you got, however the labor for install from a solid body shop that knows what they're doing should run $650-700. BTW, a little advice would be to forgo the bumper supports and shim it with a few washers
