Can someone get me a picture of the vacuum hose in the 2.8 30V engine that I use to suck up the seafoam? The DIY is for the 12V so the vacuum hoses are slightly different. And I don't want to mess this up...

Simply point it out for me.

    Re: Seafoam 30V

I just did mine the other day. I'm pretty sure I used one of the lines I circled at the Y-joints. Stuck a flexible straw in the tube and held it on the surface of a cup of the seafoam.

If you want a better pictures (^ not mine) I'll snap one tomorrow

    Re: Seafoam 30V

Yeah, please take one. I can tell that that's a 12V and am not confident that I am finding the right vacuum lines on my 30V.

Thanks a lot. I'm doing it this weekend

    Re: Seafoam 30V

I know the picture is of a 12v. But I used that as a guide when I did mine, and the 30v has vacuum lines in a quite similar arrangement. Just gotta check Audizine tomorrow morning for a reminder to take a picture.

edit: How many miles are on your car?
and this reminds me to order new lines because mine are shot.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. I've taken off the cover several times, got intimidated I guess and just put it back on lol

I just want to be positive about this. And there have been a few people who have asked for this pic too but never got it...

alright here's a better picture. Used the line I have circled. Meets at that Y...
Hope this helps. All I did was pull a line off and made sure it was sucking in air...

Sorry to digress here guys, not something that's common in the UK.

What exactly is seafoam, and what does it do?

its basically stuff to eliminate carbon buildup.

Whether or not it works has been debated.

It's a chemical that can be added to the intake system, gas system, and crankcase. In the intake it cleans carbon buildup around valves and whatnot. Cleans water and crap outta your gas lines. And cuts through any sludge buildup when put in crankcase before an oil change.

I've only put it in my intake and gas tank. Next time i'm due for an oil change I'm gonna try it in my crankcase as well. My results were pretty good. I got a nice smoke show after I put it in my intake so it had to clean something.. But one thing I did notice was my MPG went up 2+3mpg. Worked in one way or another, and it was only 6 bucks at wal-mart.

^Really? I've heard nothing but good things about seafoam. But let's be honest, you can't expect ANYTHING, especially a cleaning agent, to completely transform your motor. We use these things as precautionary things to increase the lifetime of the motor.

Otherwise, anything except for big horsepower increases are a waste of money

And I wouldn't use this on a brand new car

Ok. Just did it and am amazed. My car great. Very responsive. No longer sluggish. I put it in my crank case, drove 25 miles on the highway and then sucked it up through my Vacuum lines - sweeeet. I also added injector cleaner. DooUU it

nay. I used the "Y" like one with the green hose next to it. when you pull them apart, you'll feel which one is a vacuum hose.

    Re: Seafoam 30V

its not really rocket science, see that pic in post 18? see the green hose that runs into the Y splitter? take off any of the hoses running into the Y and if it has vacuum on it then suck some seafoam into it. if the hose you removed doesnt suck, try another one.
