DIY carwashes?

Are there any do-it-yourself car washes in the downtown area? Back on the mainland, we have places you can go...bring your own stuff but they have the car wash bays with hoses. Stupid apartment complex doesn't have a car wash area.

I don't want to go to a machine car wash and I'm reluctant to plop down big bucks for hand washes every time it rains here.

My car looks like it's polka dots with dirt and I'm sick of looking at it...need to give it a good wash soon.

If I recall correctly, there is one by the NEX.

yup, right across from the NEX furniture store right off of nimitz.

Damn thats the way to go back on the mainland if you dont live in a house. I didnt even know Oahu had one. Try and go to one of those car washes and wash you car in the Vegas winter, oh yah that sucks.

Yup, AFAIK that's the only one on the island. Really no need for that since we don't have winters like that. Always passed by, but never tried it or know anyone that tried it. Let us know how it works out.

Oh yeah, I got the brake wear sensors for you. Just need to meet up as I have to give Kurt back his caliper tool also.

bummer, already got the sensor plugs from someone on AW. thanks for remembering though!

I'm not exactly sure where this place is...never been to the navy exchange. where along nimitz is this? i'm surprised there aren't more of these self car wash places...not everyone can wash their own car and we have a high population of people living in condos/apartments.

i miss my house.

Hawaii people wash it at their house, their parents house, or have someone detail it for them.

its at the end of nimitz going west towards the H1 west/Hickam AFB/Naval Base...its the right turn right before you get on the H1, after that turn you make an immediate left then youll see the car wash on your right side...hope this helps

I go to that one all the time.

The sucky thing about that particular one is you need to be military to use it. There are two other self car washes one on schofield and one in kaneohe marine corps base. There's probably one on pearl harbor and hickam air force base.
