Need help please on some wheels/tire combos...

Who's running the widest tire/wheel combo with what offset?

Also is anyone running with spacers, if so what size spacer with what offset for the wheels?

Basically I want to know what is the widest tire/wheel combo that can fit in a B6 fender without rubbing.

    TIA

Re: Need help please on some wheels/tire combos...

Depends so much on tire make that you really can't compare the same size between brands. Everyone is just going to start posting their tire sizes.

What would be helpful is to know the wheel offset in the front and the wheel offset in the rear that will give you equal clearance on the inside and outside. Those offsets will allow you to run the widest tires.

Since almost everyone that rubs is rubbing on the outside fender, then most are running to low of an offset to fit the maximum tires size. Maybe someone that rubs on the inside can post up with their details, so you can see how high of an offset is possible.

    STāSIS had 255 F&R on their B6.

ET35 is definitely not the optimal offset for running the widest tire. It's going to be higher then that.

That may very well be true but on what and with what offset? I said the only thing I have seen, meaning I know the specs and know it worked

    OEM USP wheels.

ET35 will rub on the outside way before it does on the inside.

In the front your going to play the game of clearing the shock and fender both though. My HRE fronts, 8.5" ET39 clear the shock by about 1/4"

Yes ET39 is getting better. But aren't you rubbing the outside fender sometimes? So if you have 1/4inch on the inside and no room on the outside, then a even higher offset would be better. Which means greater then ET40.

Yepp, so I'm guessing somewhere between 40 and 45 is optimal for front.

I have no idea on rear.

Well if with et39 I have only 1/4" between the wheel and the shock, with a higher offset (et40, 43, ...) there is going to be even less clearance. If I went to a 9" front ET39, 1/4" would go each direction from the center of my current 8.5" wheel. That would put the wheel on the shock. So if you wanted to run a 9" wheel up front it would need to be a lower offset than et39, get what Im saying?

A 9" ET35 wheel in the rear should clear without any issue, possibly ET38-40 would be more ideal if you wanted to run an oversize tire, 255+

What I saying is somewhere between et40 and et45 will put the wheel directly in the middle with equal clearance on each side. Wheel width is not a factor in which offset to choose that will allow you to run the widest tire.

Well in the rear I've seen people run 265+ without problems so I don't think jet has to worry there since I'm sure he doesn't want to run larger tires in the rear then in the front.

i ran ET45 front and rear on 245/40 ZR18s dumped on race springs on special shocks that have adjustable perches so they sit even lower up front and i had 0 i mean 0 rubbing inside and out i run ET35 18s on the same tires now and i rub almost constantly.

Those are ET 35 which would be a poor choice if he wants to run the largest tires possible. And spacers could not help since they will just lower the offset even more.

Exactly my point. ET35 is BAD for running large tires. ET45 is GOOD.
