matte black b5's?

I was wondering if anyone on az has tried the matte black paint job? My performance mods are almost complete, and I want to start looking into exterior mods. I'm intrigued by the matte black paint job but i don't know if it goes well with the overall shape of the b5. Pics would suffice too, thanks.

dont waste your money painting the whole car matte black, body wrap the car it comes out just as good as paint and lasts about 5-6 years. also its cheaper and gives you the option to take it off and go back to your stock color or take it off and body wrap the car another color if you want. Im going to be doing it to my B6 S4 but im doin two tone not the whole car

wrap your car if you want flat black. It's extremely hard to get a even good looking flat paint job on a car. Someone on here painted their a4 flat black and in the sun you can see all the inconsistencies.

^^^tru, I know a few body shops that would definately do it justice, but for a pretty steep price, and it'll never be perfect. After seeing those pics I say definately wrap your car, I might actually be interested in this as well, but I live in the city and my car gets hit all the time by people trying to parallel park so I'd be concerned about it's durability.

Not trying to thread jack, but, does anybody know of a place in the northeast that could do this?

Mike there was a matte/satin black S4 at the BOTI even this weekend, really nice guy that owns a shop in San Diego. He was cool enough to give me a few gallons of C16 when my car ran out of gas on my 3rd run on saturday. I have his business card somewhere around the house so if you want to see the car in person let me know.

I have also been talking to a local shop here near my house that does car wraps, cost to do a full wrap on the A4 is right around $1450. I asked them about doing a Matte Black wrap on a A4 so I know they will do it for that price.

It looks like wrap is the way to go for flat black. Mike's quoted price of $1400 and change is insanely good. I called a couple of places today and they wanted $2500-3000 range. Mike, I'm definitely going to hit you up right before my winter break so we can set this thing up while I'm home during break. I was told it would take a week but maybe your guy is better.

I'm not exactly sure but it supposedly lasts 5 years based on what i was told. I would imagine that wraps would be a lot easier to fix than paint if you were to get any chips.

And the doorjambs are left un-touched?

I started thinking about this for my Avant but the car is blue right now so doorjambs and engine bay would look fugly.

I am sure there is something that could be done to the door jam area. Not much you can do with the engine bay though.
