hey guys.. B5 S4 owner here..

I work at an Audi/VW garage and we have a TT that a customer brought to use with some issues. We have only looked at it briefly but i was wondering if you guys might be able to head us in the right direction.

    heres the problem:

Car has a semi built motor after the timing belt snapped which includes pistons and cams. it also has a K04, bigger injectors, front mount and a tune..

im not sure what else is done to it and we are in the process of finding out.

the car came in with 15 codes none of which i remember off hand but we cleared them and it came back with multiple misfire codes on cyl 1, 2 and 4. we put plugs in it which didnt do anything.

it barely idles, sputters under load and doesnt react when you hit the gas pedal for a half a second..

only thing on the gauge cluster that works is the center display (dont think its related)

Any ideas? i will update as we find out more about it..

anything prone to go bad on these cars with more boost?

OTS stg3 file (i believe thats what it has) work with a built motor?

    need a bigger maf?

    TIA guys

Re: TT in need of help!!

What about the coil packs themselves? Replaced?

4-bar FPR might help, but check the short-term and long-term fuel trim, and the N75 and N249 valves.

Gauge cluster is shot: a common TT problem in the MkI. Audi have settled a lawsuit, with some restrictions.

Boost? We got a guy on AW making great gobs of power on HPA 3.2, and another (GoTTzilla) making up near about 400+ on the 1.8T.

Re: TT in need of help!!

are the coil packs common to go? we talked to 034 motorsports and they said the old style on it (bolt in style) where actually an upgrade for the new style.. well in any case we have 2 new in box ones that we will try

also when you accelerate down the road it dumps gas out the exhaust so i dont think its a fuel problem..
