    new keyfob?

Is it really expensive to get a new fob? My car came with two, one that worked and one that did not work. Today, the working one stopped working. I replaced the batteries, and it still does not work. I can't stand the thought of having to put the key in the door to lock it everytime I drive it.

look in the manual. when you remove the battery you need to reprogram the remote.

Try this, it's from the Bentley:

    Programming new remote controls

Two keys and all the remote controls that are to be programmed
will be needed. The maximum number of remote controls that can be
programmed, including old and new, is four.

    - Insert first key into ignition switch, and turn it to
    "ignition on."

    - Insert second key into outer door handle, and turn it to
    unlocked position for 10 seconds.

System alarm will emit three beeps.

    - Take first remote control to be programmed and press button
-1-, two beeps will be emitted. For second remote control, press
button -1-, two beeps will be emitted. Use same procedure to program
third or fourth remote control. All remote controls must be programmed
within one minute, otherwise new programming will cancel and old
remote control programming will be valid.

    - Turn key in outer door handle to unlocked position for 10
seconds, one beep will be emitted.

    - Switch ignition off.

I'll give it a try tomorrow. Thanks.

    Re: new keyfob?

Ok, I just tried it. With the key turned to on, I turned the door key to the unlocked position for 10 second, 20 seconds, and more and nothing beeped. I tried turning it to the off position and no beeps. I tried with the door closed, then with the door open, no beeps. After turning the key to the off position for 10+ seconds with the door open, I pressed the button on the remote and the lights flashed. Took the key out, tested it, and it worked. So it didn't work exactly how you said, but I never would have even been close to figuring it out without your help, so thanks a ton bro.

Yeah, thanks again. I also just noticed I said I turned the key to the off position when it worked. I meant to say to the locked position. I left the other key in the ignition to the on position the whole time.
