Hey guys, I'm new to the Audi scene. I'm from Hilo, but I live on Oahu now (East side).

I bought a used 2000 A6 2.8 a few weeks ago and after driving it for a couple of days, the timing belt idler took a crap on my throwing off both cams, but luckily not enough to do any valve damage.

I ordered the complete kit from ESCtuning, changed everything and now she's good to go!

I really like this car!! I'm gonna leave her stock for a little while, then maybe next year I'll start to add things here and there.

Any-hoo, just wanted to introduce myself.

BTW if anyone needs to borrow the crank locking pin and the cam tool for a timing belt job, just let me know!!!

My parents live in Kaimuki and I live on Punahou. Sorry to hear about your mishap lucky it didn't do too much damage. Well just to let you know we don't have that many gtg cause we all work different schedules. But we do have some from time to time. In fact I might be planning one soon cause we seem to have a lot of new peeps on here. Just keep checking the boards for any updates and info. Hope to meet you soon.

Ok oops sorry my bad, nice to meet you lee. Yeah my car is some what out of commission right now getting it ready for HIN in december. What part of the big island are you from. I use to chat with this guy from the Kona side and he too bought a A6 but I lost contact with him. If you ever need a brake piston tool just let me know I have one.

Nah it's ok, thanks for the offer though, you know a few of us have vags I'm sure they would be glad to vag your car for you if you wanted to. I think most of the S4 guys have them. In fact one of the guys at my work place has one and told me any time I wanted to Vag my car just let him know. I take it you work on your car alot?

Ahh well I think I'm going to order one anyway, let me know if you need a hook up! Well I've gone through about 10 diferent cars the past 6-7 years. I like to work on them, but I try to stay out of the engine internals unless I absolutly need to. More bolt on stuff. I used to body work and paint in Hilo, but My neighbors here would flip if I painted a car in my garage in Honolulu!!

Nah man, no offense taken. It's slow over there in Hilo, easy to get into trouble! Yea, I lived right below you, at the Kawailani/Ainaola Drive fork. There was a WikiWiki mart and a video store there before, not sure if it goes by the same name now.
