    4 year/50k warranty

My warranty is ending in a couple weeks and I will be dropping off my car for the 50k service next week. I was wondering if there is anything else I should have them check out while it is in for service i.e. common problems or anything else that can save me money down the road. I appreciate everyone's input as this is my first Audi and I have only had it for six months.

As said, extend the warranty. Also if they offer you the service plan that covers the (iirc) 65k service, take it. It is the timing belt service. That could run you up $$$. Ask if they have a special on that one.

Is this a B5? There is no timing belt on the B6 S4. It has a timing chain.

I bought an extended warranty through the Audi dealer and it was very reasonable and well worth it. All you need to do is call up the dealership. Have your VIN# handy. They will give you the prices depending how many miles and years you decide to add on. The key is to buy it before the original warranty runs out and buy it through the dealer so it is a Audi factory warranty.

yeah 4.2 s4's have no t-belt.....4.2 is pretty much bullet proof...couple things later down the road....window regulators...a/c compressor....thermostat housing....and wear and tear stuff...upper links..wheel bearings....extended warranty will usually cover these items...

    Re: 4 year/50k warranty

The words for the day are Extended Warranty.

The guy at Carlsen (in Palo Alto, where the OP lives) called me a week or two too late -- like at 51k miles -- to offer me an extended warranty, but then ran away when he heard that I was past the factory warranty period.

Extend while you can, in time for fun repairs like new wheel bearings, coil packs, and head gaskets, stupid little electrical problems, glove box malfunctions...
