AutoX'd the Audi! Pictures.

Hey all,
I autocrossed my B6 and it was really slow. Haha. The car is bone stock on Kumho Ecstas SPTs. I tried putting the rs4 rear sway bar on a week ago and I stripped one of the nuts so I ran the car without any rear sway bar! Sooo much understeer. The wheels were pretty grippy and the car has sooo much body roll. Haha, enjoy the pics.

haha, get some coilovers and put that sway bar on.... you will love it, i auto-x'd mine a few times and it was amazing, it was even decent on the neuspeed race springs

Right, if it was understeering badly, he needs a stiffer (or in this case simply hooked up) rear sway bar.

But going stock is asking for little trouble. Get the equivalent setup of a Sport package and try again :)

and to whoever said the rear sway won't do much.... your high kid, RS4 rear sway is straight up the best bang for your buck when it comes to suspension, under $200 and a great handling increase. haven't done it on mine yet, but i've been in a few A4s that have had it done, night and day difference.

im gonna have to disagree with this. i have the rs4 rear sway, and it made a huge difference in reducing the understeer. i agree it doesn't oversteer, just is much more neutral.

so, im gonna say that the rear will do a great deal. and saying that the a4, s4 and i believe the rs4 have the same front sway, it may have a less than positive effect if you swap out just the front.

Race cars don't even run sway bars as to MXRZ's words, they really aren't required. But that thing had so much body roll i bet i could fit a dog free and clear on the left turn in the first pic on the left side under the car haha, i can't imagine stock non-sport suspension.

If the car understeers you want to soften the front end so it bites more. You can achieve this by adjusting your front spring rate (decrease it compared to the rear shocks) or adjusting the shocks by softening it (if able).

Since most people don't have adjustable suspensions, the easiest way is to increase the size or stiffen the rear sway bar.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I will def. put my rs4 rear sway on. It will dramatically reduce understeer and it is pretty important. It probably would have shaved 2 or more seconds off my time. And stock suspension totally sucks but it's comfy and I like it even though it sucks. haha.

understeer is a killer for our cars :(
Getting a less aggressive front suspension spring rate....less than the back, would help out.
pair it up with rear sway bar. Understeer should be reduced.
proper entrance and weight transfer....you'll have a blast....gotta have a good set of tires. :)

How exactly is it a "great handling increase"? The bar is designed for the RS4, which weighs more and has different suspension components; the bar is not designed to work with the standard A4 or A4 sport package. You'd be better off running the stock bar.

Of course it's uncool to use the parts that came on your car--parts designed by suspension engineers with years of experience in the field.

you don't know what your talking about. it will reduce your under steer and remove a TON of body roll. some parts like the springs are setup to handle the additional weight increase from the V8, but the sway bar is more to stiffen the car up.

just read the 500 other posts all saying what a difference it has made.

the engineers had nothing to do with a4's getting a thinner rear sway bar. That decision was made by the finance side of production. If the engineers had full control of the build of the car, it may not be affordable to the people that Audi is trying to sell these cars to.
