only intakes u should consider running are ones that have a heat shield like the x1. alot of talk on the b5 s4 forum about intakes and typically they say it will hurt performance since your intake will get heatsoaked. most people run that x-1 setup or similar intakes on stage 3 setups, and most dont recommend running unless you are

I run an EVOMS that I'm very happy with. I haven't seen any results of heat-soak, however it does have a heat-shield that I'm sure reduces that risk. Is it worth $289.00??? That could be argued:

Waste of $ IMO. No gain and even losses in some cases. Drill the bottom of your box then cut lines in front passenger fender ok we to increase flow to bottom and outrer edge of box where you drilled. Some adapt the air inlet piece from the RS6 fender liner to keep it clean. MAybe get a better conical type filter in your stock box and that custom srlet up is probably the best Intake you will get for your A6.

Just installed an S-Flow. Ill let you know how goes it. I did not want to do the Darintake and the SFlow gives you 30% more intake area. Its tested to give 10-11 HP at the crank and 8 -9 at the wheels.

Re: Cold Air Intake for C5 2.7T???

My understanding is the Evoms kit will be one of the more audible ones in that you will hear a pretty good woosh sound. The AWE kit on the other hand will fit in the stock airbox (at least on S4s) and is cheaper.

I also did the holes in the box (actually cut a section at the bottom: http://www.awe-tuning.com/media/pdf/...eling_0707.pdf) and that has worked for me--it was even suggested with the fueling kit I run on my Stage 3. If you want gains (and assuming you're already chipped), consider piggies instead.
