Anyone Trimmed Their Forge TIP?

My Forge TIP has slipped off of the turbo again. The TIP connections all sort of push the pipe away from the turbo mouth, making it very difficult for me to hold the TIP in place while i tighten the clamp down onto the turbo. It eventually slips off because of this "outward pull" from the remaining connections on the TIP.

I'm thinking about trimming the pipe, anyone done this? What did you use, and which part of the TIP needed to be trimmed?

i was having the same problem during the install, but this sounds crazy -its a two man job. take the passenger headlight out, hold the pipe in place and get a friend to connect the clamps from the turbo - up.

^^did you just use a regular ring clamp on the turbo mouth? and even with the outward pressure it hasn't slipped off on you yet? hmmm

yea, i used the regular clamp. keep in mind im only stock at the moment. no bat or chip. yet.

My Forge TIP had come off the turbo several times...

Main reason I switched over to the Neuspeed TIP, and its special flange.

To date the Neuspeed has not slipped off once!

i took the entire pipe out and thoroughly cleaned it. then i wiped off the turbo inlet. put all clamps back on starting with the turbo inlet and working my way up. i did trim the N75 nipple down about a centimeter or two as it was much longer than necessary. the TIP hasn't slipped off yet and it's been about two weeks of harder driving. i'll get the neuspeed eventually when i upgrade the turbo, but until then it's a huge expense that doesn't need to be incurred.

Yes it does. I've never had my Forge TIP slip off. I did have someone help me hold it tight during the install though...

^^i had someone else help hold it in place as well. i used to have the APR TIP without the 04+ nipple and the product was a p.o.s. (not because of the nipple aspect though, it just didn't fit). i really like the forge TIP, you can't beat it for the price.
