Open exhaust make much difference?

Okay guys, I have a chipped K03 AEB (stock exhaust except VMR Test Pipe) and I was wanting to take it to the track in a few weeks just to see how she does.

I was wondering if running an open downpipe (exhaust cutout) would make any difference?

Would it be worth the $30 or so to buy the cutout? I have a buddy that can weld it in... Just want to know if it will make a difference first.

I wouldn't really worry about it if I had an aftermarket exhaust, but I was worried that the stock resonator and muffler may be restricting exhaust flow enough to make a difference in track times.

Sounds like crap, but it will make a difference....

I understand it will probably sound about like a helicopter, but It will be strictly for the track, then I will put the cover back on the dump tube and be running stock exhaust again. Just wanted to make sure it would make a difference before I did it.

honestly you will see a decrease in power if you run a cutout on a ko3 or ko4 since you will lose all your low end torque, trust me i know i have a 3'' qtp cutout,now that i have GT2871r its a whole new story with the cut out open

Exactly the same with me. On my Ko3 is sucked ass and was just loud and annoying, with it open on the 28rs its sweet.
