Ok so today i ran into a big turbo 1.8t on the turnpike and i ended up pulling him off at the next rest stop. The guy doesnt know too much about it, since he just bought it today, so after checking it out and looking at a book of reciepts, it has a gt28rs turbo with a full exhaust, not sure what kind of downpipe however the exhaust is AWE. After talking more, the guy said he doesnt like how loud it is, which IMO i think it sounds awesome. He told me he would like to get rid of it, and then suggested trading his exhaust for my stocky.
His car:
2003 A4 1.8t 5 speed with GT28RS
Mine:
2004 A4 1.8t 6 speed with K03
We would like to have this done sometime next week, and i know its really stupid to put a factory exhaust on a big turbo'd car...however its his choice so i would like to take advantage of it.
Now i know that after looking into 3" test pipes at eurocode, they mate up with the factory exhaust, however my concern is that with him having a big turbo, most likely with a different kind of 3" downpipe, that it won't mate up with my factory exhaust. Pretty much i know that the end of the pipe going to the BT is different than mine, but does the other end identicle to other test pipes that are sold to mate up with the factory exhaust?
I hope this isn't the case, but please prove me wrong!
