    $1000, what to do?

Best suggestion with $1000 to play with on an 00 S4 with 100k miles. I've fixed/replaced what needs to be based on what I've seen here. I've waited just about a year to see if this car I bought last November would be a complete headache in stock form which it hasn't. It hasn't been completely trouble-free, but it's passed the test. Now I want a little more power. Not looking to make it a monster or anything; just a quick(er) car I can drive regularly. Yeah yeah, I say that now but who knows 3 months in the future right?

What can $1000 "reliably" get me on the KO3's? I bet at least one of you says to save up for a turbo upgrade, which I've already thought of and still considering. Just looking to see what everyone has to say. Thanks.

If you dont want to save up for a turbo upgrade (k04s,GTs, or single turbo) I would just get a ecu flash, and Turbo Back exhaust. Both as a combined buy would be under 1k. Goodluck on not wanting more power. Have fun.

    Re: $1000, what to do?

IMHO, Vagcom if you dont have one (get a legit one from ross-tech), rear H-sport sway from STaSIS or used in classifieds, piggie pipes from VAST Performance or make your own if you can and then save a little more for a techtonics, awe or asp cat back.

Dont bother chipping it unless you think someday you may want to go homebrew stage 3, because then you can use that software and tweak based off that with lemmi, if thats your plan use giac X. Spend your money on stage 3 supporting mods. Then when you make the jump it will be less painfull. On the next round think about upgraded intercoolers, DTS, and maybe a bipipe or phenolics or both.

Then when you jump to stage 3 you can to the turbos, fueling, clutch and mounts. If you are a baller add in brakes and suspension also. Then you will ahve one really solid S4.

    Re: $1000, what to do?

If you're completely stock, get some coilovers. Great mod for look and feel.

Then take the downpipes off and gut them ("piggie pipes"). DIY power adder
