cost of fuel filter replacement?

stealership quoted me $130 to install fuel fuel. The filter is $60 so $70 in labor. Should I shop around, do it myself or just pay it

That's sounds about right for the dealer, but for a job that takes 15 minutes it's not worth it.

it takes like 5 min. to do yourself, its right infront of the passenger rear tire under some plastic covers... you need some needle nose pliers, a 10mm socket for the nuts that hold the cover on and a flathead screwdriver to help unclip the fuel lines... just make sure you mark which lines go where and remove your filler cap and bleed the pressure from the rail. you can get the part for like $22 from ecs tuning. oh and be carefull with the clips on the connectors they are brittle and part of the fuel lines... you dont want to have to replace those.

I just did mine a few months ago. It's no more difficult than making a grilled cheese sandwich. Keep your money.

How do you know when your fuel filter is going. I have 44K and always use premium, but I am getting a funny sound that sounds like it is coming from under my rear seats, thats what it sounds like but I would really have no idea, anysuggestions

When it's going you'll hear this loud humming noise... like something in an aerospace test lab? or something. It's pretty distinct. If the sound you're hearing is more of a grumbling / gurgling, it's your fuel pump... which is totally normal.

you guys are talking about the fuel pump. The noise is the fuel pump not filter.

When you step on the accelerator the car seems to have no pep or power. Yes, you can tell this even on a stock car. It is a good idea to replace the fuel filter around 100,000miles if you have not done so already.

Filter costs about $40-50 and takes about 15minutes of your time. With a short screwdriver you don't even have to jack the car up off the ground.

Wow must be nice my dealer charged 70$ with tax just for the part. I did it myself on saturday. I know I coulda got it cheaper online but I needed it done.

oops i never released the pressure from the fuel rail.. whould i? ha i replaced mine like a month ago or better..
