whats up guys ... i'm looking into getting a downpipe and making a custom exhaust ... what makes of downpipes should i be looking at ? Thanx guys i appreciate the input.

what he means to say is don't just get a downpipe but do the full custom exhaust wich will ofcourse include a d-pipe. You'll find all the info you need here

As for just a d-pipe, there are several reputable manufacturers, mostly the same that make full exhaust solutions. I use Labree HFC and D-pipe and love it.

can you PM me a price on such a downpipe? perhaps 2.5". i'm looking at the magnaflow 16601 to mate with my k04>stock cat>stock DP. at some point i will change to a HFC/TP and DP, but that will likely be after i upgrade to a GTRS.

I have the ATP 3" cat-less DP and It free'd up SOOO much from the stock cat. But, it does throw a CEL...I have an O2 fouler but havent't installed it yet.

That would be considered a testpipe, not a downpipe

I don't agree on HFC being a waste of money. I agree that are some out there that do not make much difference, but when i got the Labree i have now it made a very noticeable difference.

to those who have had a exhaust shop make a custom downpipe, what was the approximate cost? Im getting my exhaust done soon and im debating on whether to get one custom made or just skip it until i upgrade the turbo.

you can get a 2.5" down pipe from tttuning.com for like $260-something, that's what i'm running.

TURBO > CAT (OR testpipe) > DOWNPIPE > REST OF THE EXHAUST

why dont you just get a FULL TURBOBACK EXHAUST, from the turbo back, I dont understand why you want to pay extra money for a downpipe when you can save $$$ and get the full thing made? This exhaust would also work perfectly with your GTRS and you can even move the flange down where it connects so its not such a bitch to get on

PLENTY of room for a nice big turbo!

Still have the boost issue but i wanted to get some video before the roads get slippery. This weekend i'm going to have my lady stand on the side of the road with the video cam to get some blow by shots, normal cruzing, high rev, take off, ect. stay tuned.

I passed NH emission tests.

i needed to get a 2.5" to 3" adapter to go from the downpipe to the thermal exhaust, you will notice in the photo that the downpipe has a reduction, this is to mate to the stock exhaust, you can order it without the reduction, i ordered the wrong one so i just cut the reduction off. if you order the right one you won't need to modify it. the reduction shows the difference between the new downpipe and the stock downpipe size.

here is the tttuning downpipe and highflow cat i have installed now, photo from last winter, yes that is snow covering the windows and it got much higher :

The 2 "r" part numbers are for the factory exhaust (55mm), the one that say they are for the TT exhaust is what you want if you connecting it to an aftermarket. for the 3" thermal R&D will will still need a 2.5" to 3" adapter.

he isn't reducing, those 55mm pipes i posted was just a cut and paste from the website so he knew which not to get. that's all. the one he is looking at anyway comes with the downpipe which goes from 2.5" to 3" to mate with the 3" exhaust.
