I have a B6 A4 1.8T, i was thinking of getting RS4 reps. I was thinking of 19s or 18s. how much is this going to slow me down? i remember reading somewhere on here that it will slow me down alot. Is this true?

You may feel a decrease in performance (mostly in accelleration) with the heavier wheels.....stopping distances may also increase as well.

I'd probably stick with 18" to minimize the issue. Anyone have any first hand experiences ?

I have first hand experience. I went from 16x7.0"? wheels to 18x8.5" wheels on my girlfriends E46 sedan. I didn't feel a difference in daily driving, acceleration, braking or gas mileage. Its just so little of a difference to even notice really. If you stay within the 3% change you'll be totally fine. 18x8.5 stick with 225/40/18 or 235/40/18. 19x8.5" stick with 235/35/19 and you will be ok. On the other hand, if your car is a track car or something without power steering then you'll notice the wheels being heavier when turning the wheel at low speed.
