Starting new project in the spring - RS4 content

    From this:

    To this:

My original plans for the spring was to get my front end (bumper and hood) resprayed to get rid of the rock chips etc. by my friends body shop...UNTIL i came across this website with the intention on buying a new grill, and then i came across this...

..... now i've never been a fan of body kits, however this seems to be a quality high end product and im set on going through with it.

The kit can be found on www.lltek.com for about $1500.

    Update:

I decided to use these tips on my exhaust to flow with the rear valence, yet again something different ha

let me know what you think

B6's are great looking cars, why would you want it to look like a b7?

i always loved the way the b6 looked from the rear, but liked the front end on the b7, i believe its the best look of both. It might just be me?

and after comparing the 2 front ends, i do think the kit will make it look alot more agressice, and it also seems to make the front end sit alot lower, compared to the original front

how are the lines of a b7 different than the b6??? The sides are completely the same, even the rear end with the exception of the tail lights. Doing this front end conversion will not ruin the "lines" of the b6 at all, and i actually dig the "pig" nose

if you're talking about dropping 1500 on just the PIECES for that body kit, why not just do a b7 front end conversion with OEM parts? get ahold of greg, he can set you up with a list on a full B7RS4 front end, and then you could use the LLtek rear spoiler piece (which i actually think looks good)

you'd get the best of both worlds... the b7 front and the b6 rear

your saying that oem rs4 front end peices will cost 1500? that would include the fenders, headlights, hood, front bumper, etc? if so then who is greg? i'd be interested.

greg said that converting the ENTIRE car could be done for around 5 grand. (meaning door skins, quarter panels, tail lights, etc etc etc etc in addition to the front)

greg is 400HPA4 on the boards, and he's awesome to do business with. Shoot him a PM and talk with him on price, i'll try and find the list he threw up in another thread earlier tonight with all the part #'s you need.

whoops - forgot to highlight that. no they aren't. you'd need side markers too, i forgot about them lol

    editing my last post now.

just talk with greg about what you need to get the conversion done for the least amount of money possible. you may be able to modify some of your stock body parts and make them work.

you also have to remember that the front is supposed to flow with the lines on the side... i think i may have been incorrect to say that this could be done cheaper. it does however look MUCH better since you're not adding another few inches to the front of the car.

maybe you can get certifit fenders (if not OEM) and section them in to your existing fenders so that you can keep your door skins and side skirts etc, but the lights and bumper will all fit.

haha yea modify (mold) the ugly sidemarkers the b7's come with haha.

only way im doing it though is if this comes out to 1500 or less, which right now i doubt it will but i might be wrong.

Re: Starting new project in the spring - RS4 content

yeah, i think the best way to do it if you want to keep your doors and skirts that the b6 comes with (in other words, keep this as confined to the front end as possible) would be to cut your stock fenders out where i have it bordered (very crudely lol) and then weld in the rs4 fenders. i have the flares marked for cutting too because the rs4's are wider and look badass

you may need to trim it further up or otherwise modify it to make the hood fit, but it might work with just replacing hte part which will border the headlights, lower hood, and front bumper.

like i said - talk to greg and see what can be done. and then talk to your body shop. if they're comfortable with this type of work it really should be mostly a walk in the park... everything bolts on but the fenders (and that's only if you want to cut/section them like i have above.. otherwise they do bolt on)

Re: Starting new project in the spring - RS4 content

Ah damn, I loved the way your USP looked. You should sell me it and use that money towards a real RS4 and call it a day. What do you think?

Just doing the RS4 OEM front bumper would be odd I think the DTM B7 might be the better option.

Good luck man! It would be a really sweet but very costly conversion when it's all said and done!

If you can find most of the parts from breakers and sell off your own parts the cost will be some what reduced.

Take the DTM version I mensioned the biggest cost would be the DTM bumper has it would be unlikley to be found at a breakers or even a S-Line unit.

    Grill $150
    S-Line Bumper $225
    1 Headlight $150

This is what I can find in the US from hunting in the UK so I'm sure you guys could find more parts cheap.

Its alot to think about at the moment, ive already had a few people interested in the USP parts which will make the cost of the new kit a little easier to pay for.
