What is the difference between the two? I know that Downpipes are illegal and are High-Flow Cats legal then? I'd like to do one of the two, but whatever is legal :D

On the 2.0T, the downpipe and the cat are two totally separate pieces.
You can have an aftermarket cat with the stock downpipe, or a stock downpipe with an aftermarket cat. Two completely independent pieces.

    Re: Downpipe vs High-Flow Cat....

In California you can not even put a sticker on your cat everything is illegal here. if you live in california, it is pointless to spend 300 dollars more on a racing cat unless you can pass emissions with it. most of us will not be getting smogged any time soon though. just put the cat back on if you are. 70 dollar test pipe and more gains, or 450 dollar high flow cat with less gains and still just as illegal.........
