custom tune needed badly! NOW logs in 3rd gear pull

PES can't do sh*t for life, at least they can't have a damn good tune for the SC cars.

my engine misfired like 4 times on my first trip to school. It was crazy!

The engine has 1700 miles on it, I am not gonna wait until 5000 miles to get tuned again.

I will get a smaller pulley to run more boost.

So anyone know a very very good Audi shop around the Boston MA area need to let me know. I need a custom tune because there is nothing out there.

p.s. Craigo if you are reading about this, let me know if there is any update on your ride. Or if you have found a tune yet.

That is PES for you. My friend's B5 had so much trouble and that was back when it was GIAC software. He wound up tuning it himself with a friend that knows Motronic.

now I am just driving the car gentley so I dont mess up shit. I started spraying the water/meth to cool the engine down some what.
It takes a whole container of boost juicy every two days.

by the way, they should call themselves POS instead of PES.

Looks like you have bank one injector issues...

I would consider sending them to RC engineering to get flow matched and balanced along with a good cleaning.

What plugs are you running? To log misfires use blocks 015 & 016, it could be something as simple as a bent fuel rail.

that's really WOT? I had a more drastic RPM change / time point than that. Way too lean at the bottom at those high RPMs unless the engine isn't under load.

Rich was telling me those plugs were the way to go also. I'll let him know they aren't working out so well.

I don't think lambda from vag-com will be much help since the 3.0 has narrowband sensors. Can you pull a/f from your lc-1? I think you need a separate box for that maybe?

I don't want to spend a bunch on software either, but trying to go the cheap way out might not yield great results. I would lean toward Mark@ASP. Or talk to your local Unitronic dealer. Mike Z knows the situation and expressed interest in taking a look at the PES file.

This is only a hunch and speculation:
The B6 S4 uses the same ME7 (motronic) programming as the B6 A4? If so, I do not see it being a significant amount of work for ASP to take their B6 S4 S/C'd file and adapt it to a B6 A4 3.0L S/C'd motor. It will take time since they are really busy (and my car is first in line to be finished) but I am sure it can be done.

To help the matter, you 3.0L guys have to decide if that is the avenue you want. Meaning, all of you east coast guys should contact ASP. That equates to demand and it should help persuade the concern you have in getting a sound tune.

You gatta pay if you wanna play. Tony does amazing work if you wanted GOOD power. But I can understand where you are coming from.
