Well I think I may have found the base car for my project which seems quite high spec and low mileage and all for £3500/$6000.

Wow great find for that price, I would agree with you looks like you will be getting a good amount for that price. You could probably use what you need and get some good money back from parting the rest.

Maybe I am missing the point, but why go through all of the labor, expense in parts and fabrication, just to have an A4? I would apply the cost of the wrecked vehicle, labor, and parts and put it towards a real high performance vehicle, not one that just looks high performance

If you are missing the point then educate yourself, READ. Keep in mind everyone on this board is not in the U.S. so trends are different and every car is not as easy to get.

1. Its way cheaper than trying to buy a real RS4
2. RS4 B7 parts are less than half the price of B5 RS4 parts plus second hand parts are readily available
3. Way cheaper to run a tuned 1.8T than a RS4 B7

When you have AC why would one want a moon roof plus I think it's a S-Line by the looks of the badge on the trunk.

Well if you buy from Audi here it would be around £4500/$7,700 and includes lights but most of the parts will be bought second-hand but front wings are £180/$308 but second hand £140/$240.

I like the blue one (second find) better than the first one... And you can reuse the dash, and probably no mechanical issues since the engine area is not wrecked...

yea i would def use the blue one for the shell and just swap parts from the silver one then you wont have to swap out the whole quattro system

if youre going to convert it to an RS4 body, why would it matter that you find a USP (s-line)..of course im only assuming this because the two pics you showed were both Ultrasports

go with the blue... i guess the only thing you would have to check is the rear drivetrain components. look like that wheel got wacked pretty good.
