Somebody has a case of the Mondays

So i've been having one hell of a day. This may be a bit long but I am going to try and give you guys a short rundown.
I slept over my girls apartment last night and left the car parked on a side street in West Hartford.
I wake up and head out at 9am to go to work. As I am walking to my car I see a GTI with a flat tire in her driveway and think "man that sucks." So I walk to my car and see this...


I hop in my car already pretty steamed but it is only an $18 parking ticket...no biggie just an inconvenience
I take off...everything seems normal, mile down the road there is a tiny vibration..hmm i thought... it is the coldest day of the year.. (hoping for the best) maybe my tires are low since the air is so cold. Stupid me. I get another mile down the road... yup its blown. I pulled into a safe parking lot and here we are at 905.

I get everything ready, get the car in the air. And grab the tools... What the... this socket doesn't fit into the wrench.

I have verizon road service so i call them.. they send me a kid in a pimped out saturn w/ a jack in his trunk and a tire iron..
He starts taking lugs off and finds the locked lug. I said what lock lug? He points it out.. I check the rest of my wheels.... the only wheel with a lock lug on it is the one that got slashed. I get a hold of the previous owner, ask him where the lug key is...he has no idea. And now comes the fun part...
Tow truck.
1145 Now. Tow truck guy gets to me. Puts the bed down. starts backing my car up and notices I may rub bumper so he gets out, lays down piles of chains to give the car more height since he didnt have his boards. And tells me to back it up and he will keep an eye out on the front.

Good eye chief.
NOW I am pissed.

Get to my house, drop it off using my 2x4's and park it.
Bubba takes off, I start going threw my glovebox looking for my insurance card just to have....

Uhhhhh... What the FUCK
So now after 5 hours of bull shit its time for this



I was planning on selling these wheels since my HRE's will be all polished up on wednesday. So now I have to either buy a new tire or two and sell my rims as a complete set, or just sell my rims and take a hit on the price.

The beer did help and so did you guys.

If anything good came out of this, I convinced the wheel shop to push my new rims up on his priority list so they should be done on Wednesday instead of Friday.

I still have to file a police report on the tire slashing tomorrow, I also have to call up the dealership and see if the glove box is covered under warranty (doubt it) and also call up the wrecker company ad make some advancements with this damage.

Sorry to hear that man. I actually had that same glove box thing happen to me on my b7. But mine actually broke off on one side and then broke off the other and fell off lol. Audi covered it on warranty so it was all good. I hope everything turns out ok for you.

so it is known that these fail? or was yours a result of pushing down on it?

My glovebox hinge broke/cracked also. Covered under warranty, don't worry, this is a known problem.

Well things are beginning to take shape... I called up the towing company and the auto body shop they use actually is a very reputable shop and a shop that my father has gotten to know well through the automotive industry. So I am thinking they may need to paint my whole front bumper and maybe blend into my hood and fenders just to get the color right! Buh-bye Rock Chips!

Still waiting on a call back from Hoffman Audi about the glovebox, and once I get this damn lock nut off I will head out to West Hartford to file a police report for insurance purposes.

Also completely removed the "vinny mod" last night and getting the double sided tape off wasnt too difficult, just time consuming. Moral of that story is the mod is not permanent, nor does it leave any permanent damage. So if you have 30-40 bucks to spend and want to capitalize on making it fit perfectly than give it a shot!

Edit: Also got me thinking... since its already in the shop, maybe i can toss them $50 to paint my grills black... hmmmmmmmm
