So im going to be buying a A3 sline 3.6 for my bro in 2 weeks most likely. Has air ride in a a3 been done?, i think that would be a awesome project for us to do and it would look very different. My bro doesnt want to make it really fast he just wants to get looks so i figuared airride would be the thing to do.

    Comments, answers.

    thanks

    Re: Air ride?

did you mean 3.2 instead of 3.6?

also, if he wants it just for looks, you should get him the 2.0T. It looks the same, it's cheaper, and it's better on gas.

    Re: Air ride?

yes i ment 3.2 haha, i have a a4 2.0 as well and i would love to get him one but he wants a a3 and i would feel better if he had quattro. and quattro is only availble in 3.2 which sucks but it is what it is

    Re: Air ride?

The 2009s are supposed to be coming with quattro and 2.0T.

    Re: Air ride?

aren't those kits like around 5 grand +??

Imo just get low springs / coilovers for 300$ / 1000$ and spend the rest on better stuff. Springs will give you the same look

Id personally keep the CO's and buy the oettinger kit, that will defiantly make your car soo sick

    Re: Air ride?

look into B&G c/o's. they drop the most. Ppl also run B&G rears w air ride. at least the MKV's have. Havent seen that many bagged A3's though

    Re: Air ride?

its obviously what he wants if hes considering bags
a true tuck is a look all of its own.
i myself am a rub n poke kinda guy...others flush...tire tuck, or full on sag. to each his own

u know i never understood the term "coils" in reference to coilovers, when i think of a coil as a spring...with separate shock.
coil/coilovers i get it...but just call them by name or CO's. seems to confuse stuff

    Re: Air ride?

start here. looks to be one of the easiest setups, but a little expensive. They should have or make what you need.
