    Tein w/Bilstein drop

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Just lowered vehicle.

    Description - 2006 Audi A4 6mt Quattro
Suspension - Tein lowering springs with Bilstein Sport shocks

    Before overall (non-sport suspension):

    After overall (tein w/bilstein):

    Front stock:

    Front after:

Back stock:(sorry for the blurry pic)

    Back after:

Impressions: Best way to sum it up is the ride is firm but subtle. I would say it is 30-40% firmer(shock) and around 25% stiffer(springs). Car is definitely driveable everyday. Any more specific questions will be answered to the best of my ability.

Note: I did look at the pictures on tein's website and saw that the rear was a tad too low so my buddy found some thick rubber gaskets(.25 in) and we cut it out and located it under the rear spring perch/gasket/damper.

Overall I think it came out well and since I'm only driving the vehicle on the street, it is perfect. I didn't see anyone else put pictures of these springs up so I figure it would be a contribution to AZ. Also, the reasoning for me choosing springs vs. coilovers is from past experience.
    1. not racing the car
    2. no one in the area to corner balance
    3. cost more ( I paid 650 total for my setup )
    4. This car will only be daily driven.

    All opinions are welcome.

Tein S. I wanted to go as low as possible without resorting to coilovers. I've had plenty on my last vehicle. Not the worse experience but it takes up a lot of time when you wanna have a dual purpose vehicle. Gonna keep this one simple.

Thanks. It came out pretty well considering I wanted something lower than the H&R sports.

Looks good! Will look nicer once you pick and install your new kicks ;) Keep us updated!

I just got my 04 A4 Avant 3 weeks ago and it came with some RS4 reps lowered on tein springs (assuming they are "s" based on your setup) on stock sport shocks. Although stock sports are comfortable, they do feel a bit too squishy when combined with the teins. It's my DD and do not plan on tracking my car despite being taunted by my WRX buddies at school, hehe. Just want a sporty feel yet maintain comfort as wellLike the increase in stiffness you're seeing with the bilstein sports...I think those will be the right choice to pair with my springs. I'm a strapped for cash right now since I just bought my Avant and a couple days later I picked up a 6MT swap from a fellwo AZer, misterjj2u (met him in person, great guy and honest seller) so I will post my feedback on the new setup when I get the chance :)

Looks great, this will probably be my next step after going stage 1. I will probably get some JOM coils though, cheaper and adjustable.

Talk about thread revival! Yes they are still rolling and I still do not have any new shoes. I am putting money into maintenance and so far, my car hasn't left me stranded. Getting geared up to change out all the suspension arms in the front. We just swapped out my buddy's to 034's setup and it feels like a new car! I can't wait! Man, Avants are too pretty. I should've waited for one.....

Nice. Now I have to research the 034 setup and see when I'll do it too, lol. Funny thing...before with my ek civic coupe no matter what I did to improve it my buddies always told me, "Ya know Rigo, no matter how much you improve it...it's STILL a civic." Which was true, just didnt want to accept it. Now they are all asking me what I'm going to do next

you mind posting your ride with the H-techs Satummoo? Since I bought the car with the S's on it already, I'm curious as to how much of a difference in height they are compared to yours. TIA

Satummoo: That's a nice gap on that car...I used to that kind of clearance on my Civic before I picked up the Avant. I was very satisfied with it doing some autoX events and loved not worrying about speed bumps. I don't have any issues in the A4 at my current height (so far) with light driving. Only thing is if I decide to take one of those 360 degree freeway on/off ramps at a "spirited" speed I get slight rubbing with 2-3 others in the car so I ease off the throttle until it goes away :-\. I wonder if I swap my OEM sports with Bilstein Sports will the rubbing be significantly reduced or go away completely? hmmm....

Btw here is a pick of my old civic...3 days after I sold it to a good friend of mine it was stolen at our schools campus... could you believe that ?!

Looks nice! I rocked s-techs on stock struts for over a year and it was just fine. Although with b5 caps + sline shocks + teh teins I was 24.5" front and 25" back, what are your measurements?
