    APR ECU - Help

So I recently purchased a used APR ECU Stg 1 for my C5 2.7t and am having some issues getting it to work - hope you guys can help.

Symptoms: Basically, when I plugged in the APR ECU and turned the ignition, the engine would fire up, and then cut out a second later. Tried entering the 'Unique Access' code and nothing.

As far as I know, the ECU is compatible with my vehicle (same serial) and only has the 93 octane program.

A little confused at this point - dont know if its the anti-theft, some sort of lockout program that I dont know about etc. I will probably try to get APR on the phone next week but wondering if you guys the answers I am looking for.

    Thanks in advance

    - from the humble Audi NoOb!

According to APR's website, when you place the new ECU in the car, you should leave your key in the ON position for at least three minutes before starting the car. I purchased a used APR ECU and followed this procedure and had no probs. Hope it helps!

Thanks - I believe I left the key in there for a while when I was playing with it this weekend. I'll try this again tonight (and hold my breath for 3 mins) and see if it works.

I just called APR and they said that its the factory Immobilizer that is causing the issue. They want me to send the ECU back to them to defeat the immobilizer but they want $150 for it!! Any way that I can get around this?

I have a MY 2000, so no immo on my car. Are there any APR dealers in your area? I would think they should be able to fix this in house, idk what they would charge but might be worth a phone call.

Yea - I am calling around to see but it seems that they all want the same $$ for doing the same thing. Its just unfortunate because it the cost savings I was getting by purchasing used just went right out the window.

Seriously, Anyone know how I can get around the Immobilizer issue without going through APR? I know the dealer should be able to recode a new ECU to a key / cluster but they want $100-$200 for the service as well.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: APR ECU - Help

Update - okay, so I sent the eCU back to APR, paid them the $150 fee to get them to do the "immobilizer defeat" and IT STILL DOES NOT WORK!

Someone PLEASE tell me what to do!?!?
