Removing the chrome strips on the filler plate?

Does anyone know of a post on how to properly remove the chrome strips on the filler plate? I saw someone who snapped a few images of when they did it, but I couldn't find an explanation.

I feel like I'm about to break off the plastic tabs when I'm doing it, so I wanted to ask around first.

    Any info would be great.

just flip it over and make sure you are careful. I just used my fingers and started with the middle and worked my way to the ends. use yt=our fingers and push them out. your fingers will hurt a little but you'll be fine!

Anyone have any images of how they got the inner tabs out? I'm referring to the tabs that you cant see, that feel like they are going to break when you start to pull out the strips.

No, I'm not trying to do this while the filler plate is on the car....it would be awesome if I was, since Im sure I wouldnt get flammed for that.

There are tabs that hold the inside of the chrome strip to the filler that feel like they are about to bend/break when I start to pull them off.

The only tabs that i have ever dealt with while take the strips off are ones I can see. I don't know of any hidden tabs. Take a flat head screw driver and push on it a little. see if that helps at all.
