stock boost levels

hey i just got my boost gauge in and i want to know if these numbers are right or if i have a problem, iv searched but there arnt to many stock b5 a4 on hear, sadly i am

2000 1.8t atw 5 speed

hg 22 at idle

psi spikes to 7 and holds at 7

i know the vaccume is good but is that all a stock atw will put out?

hmmm good question. because i know that the 2001 (AWM) has the K03s and stock boost is about 10-11psi. My AEB only boosted 7psi from the factory.

If the ATW has the K03s, there's a leak. if it's just the regular K03 like in the AEB, it's normal.

2001 is 170 hp (10-11 psi), 2000 and down is 150 hp (7 psi).

Sounds about right.

It is better to wait for a person parting thier chipped/flashed ECU on ads. Will save you some dough, but I think GIAC dropped thier prices by like 25%. Anyways, I just read many threads on Revo of them having weak sauce. But this only applies for the B5 chasis stock turbo. I am sure thier BT files are better.

yeah, except that ecu won't work for his car...

doesnt realy matter what chip company you decide to choose, considering that they all look good. I feel that the GIAC thing is just a jump on the bandwagon kinda deal. Look at the guys who got the speedtuning chip, no complaints and seams just like the giac file at half the price.. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=240676

I have a GIAC chip with mah setup.. got it with the k03, than after a few weeks I cooked the puny k03 like it was a bratwurst @ octoberfest FTW! but yea i upgraded to k04 turbo and im very happy :]

GIAC is tight.. however APR is like 30min away from my house... hmm wierd eh
