i want to put an intercooler on my B7 s4 so it would look cool. I just think its an ultra cool idea for people to see a front mounted intercooler through the front grill even though its not connected to anything. And Im convinced it would definitely add 25 whp.

I think a rear mount setup would work. I've been thinking about doing it also. The only problem is going to be tuning.

Wait what? Increase horsepower without increasing RPMs? This is where your research should begin....

im not sure which set up youre referring to however, the most powerful M5s are usually supercharged...

Im sure you can find a company to do your tuning.. the big problem that you are going to run into is getting a charge pipe from the back of the car to the front without cutting a bunch of stuff.... I've looked into this option a lot. With the dual exhaust, driveshaft, brake lines, and all the other crap our audis have on them its almost impossible to get piping where you want it to go.

Question / threadjack: I know that N/A engines like ours especially feel and are significantly faster in the really cold morning, etc. Is there any way a FMIC application could replicate the colder, denser air into the engine? Not realisticaly, right?

idk anything about N/A engines benefiting from cold air... however FI engines could pack the lower intake piping with ice or dry ice on the IC.


also water, meth injection, or plumb nitrous into the intake.

Rear-mount turbos don't need intercoolers because of the long run from the turbo to the engine. And there isn't any room anyway.

Theres a thread on a S4 with a rear mount turbo. Do a search. Also I have heard that meth injection works well on N/A cars has anybody explored this option?
