TWo problems, BAttery ? and smoke

So I return from my trip to ARuba after being gone for a week.
I go in my garage to start the audi and it seems like I didnt have enough juice in the battery to start it. So I used my jumper battery thing and started up the car. Eventually after turning it on and off a few times the car would start without a hitch. Could the battery almost drain itself after a week of no use? I didnt see any lights that i may of left on btw.

    # 2. I changed my oil and used the wrong synthetic oil. Instead of 0-40w I used 5w-30.

Now i get this burnt oil smell from the engine and you can see faint white smoke coming from both headlights. I'm hoping this may of just messed up the valve cover gaskets as Im pretty sure I needed to replace them anyway.

im about to go change the oil again with the right one.

Come January im getting rid of this car. IF leasing is around thats what im going to do. Im tired of doing maintenance on car.

Depending on the age of the battery - a week could be plenty of time to let the battery drain. Pull into an autozone or the like and have them throw a battery tester on there to see how well your plates in the battery are storing power.

In regards to the oil - don't sweat the other weight - it won't make a huge difference overall (I know how specific these cars are but no need to rush out to change). I would imagine too that the smoke that you're seeing in the light of the headlights is probably one of two things: 1) either there is some overspill that dropped down to the exhaust manifold and it's cooking when the car is hot - thus giving you visible smoke or 2) you have a head cover gasket or the like that has aged and is letting a small amount of oil drip down onto the manifold - again revealing the smoke.

Good luck and for what it's worth if you're a fan of modding - you'll never come out on the good side of a lease. The last thing you want to do to a lease car is invest any money other than what you contractually have to because you loose the value of those additions when you turn it back in - if you buy it at the end of the lease, you in essence pay about 40% more than if you bought it outiright in the begining.

Battery Issue: It's very possible the battery drained due to no use. If you don't have any other issues with it except that one no start your fine.

Smoke: Does the smoke actually smell like burning? What kind of burning, oil, electrical, rubber? Can you see exactly where it is coming from?

5w-30 isn't horrible for our cars in the colder months from what I understand.

When I called the dealership a while back to ask about oil weight they told me they run 5w 30 in all the cars they do changes on. Although you are a little colder up there the oil weight shouldn't cause an issue such as that. only way to really know is switch back at the next oil change. The switch shouldn't have messed up gaskets either unless they were already in bad shape.
