Night Pics! - JHM SSK and DIY Plasti-Dip Painted Shift Surround

JHM SSK
Professionally installed at JH Motorsports in Lathrop, California. Due to excellent Customer Service I ended up with the 1" shorter shaft and a stock pushdown reverse spring. Shifts are very crisp and solid, makes rev matching down shifts a breeze because my old stock shifter was quite notchy, especially going into 3rd. A definate must have mod if you enjoy mashing thru your gears!

DIY Plasti-Dip Shift Surround
My stock surround was looking very worn compared to the rest of my interior so I decided to re-finish it with Plasti-Dip. It's a rubberized paint spray you can purchase at your local Home Improvement store for under $9. All I did was clean the surface to rid any oils, let it dry, sprayed 4 heavy coats with 30 min. drying time between. I also removed and painted the silver trim around the surround separately as well and slapped my old shift boot back on

I'm still debating on installing my D3, I love the factory look and how it displays info on your dash. My other concern is the am/fm reception on the D3, some people say it's not very good unless you install some sort of booster. How's your reception?

I checked Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot and Orchard Supply Hardware and only found black and white. Supposedly it's available in a gloss or matte finish but I could only find matte in B/W. The matte finish looks pretty good imo . . .

It's not that hard to install.
You'll have to mess a little bit with the adjustment, but it's a pretty straightforward install.

My reception for the d3 is not noticbly worse then stock so i would have to say pritty much close to stock. But i do have this whinning noise when i give and get off of gas.

Edit: I have a theory as to how your interior is so fresh and new looking. You have 2 sets of seats. One set for driving, and then when you need to take interior pics, you switch to your CLEAN AS HELL alcantara seats. Oh I'm on to you mister...

Sounds like a grounding issue to me, make sure you have a clean connection and utilize the factory ground wire.

Nope, still have it. When the need arises I have the Black Alcantara with Tan Stitching, Ecru Alcantara or Red Alcantara with Tan Stitching to swap with. If I ever find a Silver Alcantara shift boot to match my interior I will get that too!
