because its full of fucking liars! so a few months ago i bought some eibach springs for my car from 'mhjon2001' and the deuch bag basically ripped me off.. i asked him a million times if they were the right springs for my car and he kept confirming that they were for b7 FWD and how he bought them for himself but decided to sell them cause he gf bought him some c/o's.. blah blah blah.. so i get the springs and all is well..

about a month later i decide to sell them cause i just bought some neuspeed cause i wanted to go lower.. so i put them for sale and somsone asks for pics of the product number and it comes to our attention that they are for a cabriolet!! yeahhhhh so basically they dont fit on my car, and they wouldnt have fit on the sellers car eitherrrr..

so i message him back explaining and asking if we can just settle this the right way and ill send them back at my cost and he gives me a refund and he basically says no.. which is what i expected.. usually when someone rips you off they are never going to give you a refund right?

he claims that he didnt know they were the wrong springs, and that these are the ones he bought for his car and everything.. which i know is bull shit.. why would he buy cabriolet springs for his own car??? and why would he sell me cabriolet springs and NEVER mention that when he KNEW i didnt have a cabriolet??

iv sent him a bunch pm's trying to settle it and it goes no where.. i even asked if he could at the VERY LEAST tell me where the hell he bought them from so i could attempt and exchange and i dont even get a response

before anyone says anything, YES it was part my fault for not checking the part number before buying.. but i asked him like 4 times to confirm the car that these springs go on and he did .. so i didnt assume that he would be lying through his teeth to me and send me something that he knew would never fit on my car.. so screw the classifieds becuase theres wayyy too many fucking deuch bags looking to fuck people over.

i really dont believe him for a second.. cause he doesnt at all seem sorry, or willing to help me.. and he wont respond to where he bought them to help me exchange it.. so all of that together it making it pretty clear that he sold me something that he knew wouldnt fit on my car

it sucks that you ended up with the wrong springs, but it could be an honest mistake on the original sellers part. if the box was never opened in an attempt to install he could very easily assumed the parts would fit his car. it took you a couple months to figure it out.

that aside, the bigger issue is probably the length of time between the sale and your attempt to return. it's the classifieds, not a store. returns are tricky at best. most stores would not take a return that long after the sale.


I suggest relisting them as the parts that they are and hope that someone with a cabriolet wants to buy them. list them here, other forums, craigslist etc. good luck.

that link is for the original listing.. and the box wasnt unopened.. it was all opened up.. the box was in horrible shape.. and the springs wernt wrapped in any kind of plastic...

i understand its been a while since the sale (about a month) but i just realized this now, and the main point is that he sold me something that he knew didnt fit his car, or mine, after repeatedly telling me that they did.. it doesnt matter if i found that out a day after or a month after ya know.. he still screwed me over

I had the same thing happen to me with a guy names BenS. He sold me what he said what was a brand new OEM B7 sport suspension. I got the shocks and I could tell something was already not right when the shocks and springs looked like they had been used a lot, just by looking at them. I figured what the hell and took them to the shop and told the guy to put them on the car. They didn't fit. Turns out the shocks/springs were for an A3! I got ripped off. Luckily only for $200 bucks. Since then, I'm very hesitent about buying anything more than 50-100 on the classifieds. That way I can't get ripped off too badly.

Learn from your mistakes and move on. Serial number and pictures is what I ask for at least. I even check out the product making sure it is not stolen (call the manufacturer and run the serial number to see if it was reported stolen, etc.) I understand your rant, but your outta luck... if you paypaled, try to dispute the charge... or do what he suggested... sell them again.

Cabrios are FWD... which is part of the seller's....confusion or whatever it is.

They don't lower as much, and since Cabrios weigh more, they are probably stiffer also.

Have you tried, contacting Eibach just to verify that B7 A4 Cabrio springs fit B7 A4 non-cabrio?

yes i called eibach and they said that they shouldnt go on a sedan.. they said the sedan is lighter so it wont sit nearly as low and the spring rates are all off

I understand your frustration but there is a feedback forum for this kind of rant or at least the chatterbox. One thing that annoys be about stuff like this is that I have sold over 12k of stuff on here (wheels and coils) and never had an issue but people come along and fuck other overs means people are scared shitless when they are trying to buy two thousand dollar wheels from me. I wish there was a way to make it so you have to have a good rep on here and at least 100 posts to make a ad.

To help mitigate things like this in the future is to not only confirm the actual part number but to also get some background information on the seller (who they are, where they're located, past seller history, if they have things like eBay feedback, etc). FWIW, Eibach's website has a relatively good "Applications" chart that clearly shows different part numbers for 2WD Sedans and 2WD Cabrios.

This is one of the reasons for the new Classifieds section, as it has a built in feedback/rating system that can be utilized for both buyers and sellers.

The other thing people need to do, for cases of scamming and/or fraud, is to bring it to the attention of a Mod or Admin. If we're not made aware of such issues then how can we take proper action towards the offender's account?
