Is it worth it to change this thing?

It isn't going to make your car faster. An after market spring piston type is good for when you start raising boost pressures thru chipping or turbo upgrades. If it isn't broke and you aren't chipping it isn't necessary.

There is no need to go with a spring type DV. Go with the Bosch 710n (OEM on the TT) or go with the APR R1. Better performance with the R1 and there is no maintenance unlike the spring type valves such as Forge.

I got a forge 007 before chipping and by watching my boost level, I could see that I would hold boost when the stock would start to fall off. Even if you dont chip, you will recover lost boost.

That's because you don't hear from all the R1 users who don't have issues.

Diaphragm type DVs are better because there is no maintenance, and they react faster than piston type DVs. Another option is the AWE DV-1 DV, used by Porsche and others, OEM.

Don't you mean AWE's valve? AWE DV 1 Valve

The 710N works great too. I took my hyperboost out last year and like the oem 710N better.

Re: New Diverter Valve ... is it worth it?

Is there a max boost that can be run safely without risking tearing the diaphragm of the 710n? I had those on my B5 S4 and had no issues, but that was nowhere near the boost pressure of a BT on a 1.8t. I plan to run a GTRS elim setup with REVO... so is a 710n still a good choice for that? Its not insane boost, and I do like the maintenance free and quick response of the OEM valves.

The AWE pcar valve is interesting as well, but expensive compared to the 710n... worth the extra money?
