Spark plug gap with APR stage 2+ software

i just purchased some brand new coil packs and i am thinking about opening up the gap on my NGK BKR6Es. i had to gap them down to .025 to get rid of missfires that were occuring in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear at 3k rpms or so. what gap would you guys run with brand new coil packs and copper plugs?

Re: Spark plug gap with APR stage 2+ software

thanks for the response. but it appears everyone is running .028 gaps tho. i have noticed a substantial reduction in low end "grunt" when i gapped them down to .025. they were at .030 previously, and my low end felt much better with that gap, but the top end was utter shit (primarily due to spark blow out). you sure keeping it at that low of a gap isn't gonna rob me of some extra power?

PS: what is that sticky grease in the new coil pack boots? is it dielectric, and meant to be there? or should i clean that ish out?

its dielectric grease.. leave it in there.

honestly if you notice a difference between a .025 gap and a .028 gap then u got some superpowers.

if its workign fine for you at .025 then why change it?

i am telling you, going from .030 with misfires to .025 there was a significant drop in low end torque and a gain in high end power. i think for now i am just gonna keep the plugs gapped the way they are and order some BKR7Es in the next 1000 miles since BKR6Es are intended more for stock boost levels. I read BKR7Es cater more to chip tuning and exhaust upgrades.

    thanks!
