    15"s?

    Hey all,

I know it sounds pretty chintzy, but I was wondering if 15" wheels would clear the brakes on a stock 04 USP. I know that as standard, the 04 came with either 15" or 16" wheels, but I'm not sure which, and I couldn't dig it up searching.

The reason being I lucked into a free set of Blizzaks from my neighbor, but they're unfortunately 15s. I need a set of winter stuff badly, car-skiing during the winter like last winter isn't gonna fly this year.

    Let me know, reps~!

Actually, according to tirerack.com, a stock 2004 USP came with 235/40 18 tires. Original Equipment Sizes for 2004 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro Ultra Sport Package

I'm not sure if you have changed your wheels or not, but if you really have a stock USP, I doubt 15's will fit.

Oh, I didn't mean 15s on the USP, I just meant the stock base FWD version I thought had 15's.

Oh, well your profile says you have a 04 USP quattro...

Is that not what we're talking about here?

    Re: 15"s?

    /\ your getting everything twisted.

He just wants to know if 15's will clear his USP brakes (which are the same as every other A4....so in that case, yes, 15's will clear

    Re: 15"s?

I'd rock 15's if I can fit my brakes behind them now. Nothing better then quattro with snow thin tires :D

    Re: 15"s?

Yes, 15's should fit just fine. I have 15" steelies on my car right now from a mkV VW Rabbit (195/65/15's, they look like friggin' bicycle tires, LOL). They won't fit a 3.0 though.

    Re: 15"s?

The 3.0L has 312mm Brake rotor and require a 16" wheel to clear the caliper. The 1.8T has 288mm Brake rotors and 'some' 15" wheels will clear the calipers. Your best off to find an OEM steel take off wheel, it will have a good chance of clearing the OEM 1.8T brake set.

In the end you might be better served by selling those tires you scored for free and actually getting a set of tires and wheels that you prefer.
