So, I think given the fact that these are a very inexpensive alternative for people that can't drop $1500 on lights, is a good option. Not all of us have the opportunity to afford everything we want. And looking at these lights, overall, they are not bad. The black housing looks great. The light output is not bad... totally functional. And that is the bottom line, these are totally functional.
So congrats on the purchase of the lights. I think they look good. And frankly that's all I care about.
Hi- just want to vouch for the fact that these DEPO actually works with the HID drop in kit- it is a great option for those in a budget. Although I don't have a B7 A4, I have an 07 A3 (8p) that came with halogens. I couldn't afford the OEM hids, but opted to get a used FK Angel Eyes projector housing (which basically are made by DEPO- as the name "DEPO" is stamped at the back of the reflector- saw this when i was modding it with LEDs).
Initially, I didn't like the output (because of some 'weird' bright spots)..but as i found out, that I wasn't adjusting it properly (and the HID kit bulbs weren't seating properly in the bulb holder). After that was figured-out, I also realized that the cut-off was different (somewhat) than my previous Passat hella HIDs. The "up-slope" of the cut-offs were a bit off center than my previous passat hids. But once on the road- the cut-offs were perfect, and the up-slope helps illuminate the right side of the road just right.
I opted not to connect the Angel-eyes- i just dont think it looks right.
Below are photos of the beam pattern/cut-offs. I **assume** that DEPO basically uses the same lenses and reflectors for all of their angel-eyes.
