bought some FOB off the net. I have the shanks replaced and cut. I was told there is a way to program the remote to the car with a key in the ignition and a series of button pressing or something?

I checked the owners manual but didnt see anything.

Is it possible to program my keys without vag?

    Re: FOB question

You can program the fob buttons to the car (lock, unlock, trunk, panic). Only a dealer can match keys to the immobilizer so that the key will start the car. That is unless you have the login SKC to your cluster, which is nearly impossible to get these days.

Audi also allows independent shops to match keys to the cluster for a fee, but they need the scan tool as well.

    Re: FOB question

I've done it with Vag-COM. Let me see if I can find the procedure...

    EDIT:

    Channel 021: Remote Control Matching

    [Select]
    [46 - Comfort System]
    [Adaptation - 10]
    Channel 021.
    [Read]

    * Choose the memory position you want the new key be matched on by entering it's number (e.g. "3" for memory positon 3).

    [Test]

    * Now press any button on the remote you want to match.
    * The meas. block field above will change from Not Recogn. to Recognized.

    [Save]

    [Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

Note: You can check the current memory positions using Meas. Block 007.
