Well it finally arrived in the mail today, what drill bit would you use to drill through your hood to mount this? It is going on my S6 Avant.

That thing is sweet looking.. but I'm not sure how it'd look on a modern S6...

Well, I would determine where you want it and then whether anything underneath will be effected by drilling there.

Then cover the spot where you want it with marking tape on both sides of the hood. Mark the base of the ornament against the tape with a pencil and then mark the drill points inside the base outline on the tape.

Drill very slowly through the tape/paint/metal and do not force the drill. Use a fresh drill bit so that it cuts and doesn't just heat up the paint.

Once the hole is drilled, use a small round file to remove burs in the opening. Then, I would apply a coat or either touch-up paint or some kind of primer/sealant to prevent the surrounding paint edges from lifting one the screws are in place.

Peel the tape and install. You may want to cut out a rubber base for it to rest on. Like 1/8" thick to keep it from vibrating against the hood surface.
