How do you drive your TT?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys.

I was just wondering how you drove your car. I have a 225 2001 TT with modifications (Milltek, REVO, Forge DV, etc. etc.).For the most part I try to drive my car very conservatively/economically (keeping the overall lifespan of my car's engine to it's fullest and be gas conscious).

I normally stay around 2.5KRPM-3KRPM. What do you guys run?

    Thanks for your input!!!

I'm usually shifting at 3300 or so. Except on ramps I hold it up to 5500. I have fun with the car, that is what it's made to do!

Re: How do you drive your TT?

I drive it pretty conservatively. Day two after owning the vehicle i got pulled over for doing 80. I do take it to the track for track days as often as i can and on the weekends try to get up into the mountains to have some real fun.

And why not the TT motor is one of the stoutest motors they have produced for the 1.8T. hence why everyone wants to get our Sh** when they go BT

Drive like you stole it but you wanna keep it.

Re: How do you drive your TT?

I dunno. I drive mine fairly "conservatively" as well. I've had far cheaper, shittier cars to abuse to all hell. Now I've got this new TT and it's a fun toy, but it doesn't deserve the abuse that I've put down on my VWs. lol.

The only thing I'm doing with this one is taking it out to the track.

Re: How do you drive your TT?

I drive mine enthusiastically but with respect. I don't dump the clutch or beat on it. My car has some mods and it has great power for a stock turbo. I was going to go BT but decided instead to go with the VF Engineering SC kit for my S4 instead. I do want to do the Forge FMIC on my car though. It pulls really strong when it's cold, but once it warms up in the summer temps (the only time of the year I drive it... it's not a winter car) it looses a lot of power after it heat soaks.

I love the TT. It's a great car all around. It's fast, sporty and very elegant. I plan on having this car for a very long time. The only thing I could see parting with it for would be a Porsche, and that is a long way off. I make good money, but not that kind of money yet.

Re: How do you drive your TT?

I normally shift mine at around 3500 rpms, and I would say I drive 70% conservative and 30% balls to the wall. My car does have a new motor, clutch, and a host of other things so I am not too worried about anything.
