    Test Pipe HELP!!!!!!!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well today a test pipe and cat back exhaust is or possible was being attempted to being installed. Here is the problem that we are running into. We took the exhaust back from the down pipe out. We got the 4 bolts from the cat to the turbo. We got the front O2 sensor out. How in gods name do you get the cat/down pipe out from the bottom of the car?????? I have it on car ramps in the front and jack stands in the back. We must have tried for a half an hour to get it out with NO luck at all . Once we determined this is pretty much impossible we tried to take the bolts off from the cat to the down pipe. This may SEEM like an easy task but they are rusted like no ones business and wont come out !!! ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!!! So I can my Audi again...

    Re: Test Pipe HELP!!!!!!!

We have ALL of the bolts off on the cat and the downpipe except the one bolting them together. I can move them like 6 or 8 inches. I just seems impossible to get it out through the bottom ...anyone have any suggestions?

are you using a lift or just jackstands and jack? you need alot of clearance to get the downpipe out

    Re: Test Pipe HELP!!!!!!!

Easy. Pull it out the top. If the air box is out you can pull it out the top with some maneuvering. All in one piece, cat and d-pipe. If for some reason this doesn't work you can take it half way out and then unbolt the last bolt easily. For more room on the bottom make sure the heat shield covering the cv joint is out of the way. Also make sure the end of the d-pipe is over the sub frame brace. if you can't squeeze it out then take the brace off. Anyway jut pull it out the top. If you can't do it with this info then take it to a shop.

why cant you just wiggle it out through the bottom? do you not have the clearance from the ground?

    Re: Test Pipe HELP!!!!!!!

the removal of the intake is most likely recommended. you should go buy a regular hose clamp from home depot for the intake hose because that shit is a bitch to put back in
