This past weekend I drove my car up to my house in Tahoe to get it registered (yay Nevada for less smog, no tint or front plate laws). Turned out to be a little stressful, sorta cold, but mostly fun. Here are some pics:
I decided to drive up during the first snow of the season. 29 degree temps + big turbos = awesome... too bad the elevation wasn't lower.
I got a check engine light on the way up and pulled over to delete the code. Unfortunately when you delete those little check engine lights of hate, they also reset your readiness codes, which need to be set in order to get smogged... so I decided to drive up to Mt. Rose in hopes they would set. No luck, but it was a fun canyon drive anyhow.
With those damn codes not resetting, I decided to drive to my wifes house in Monterey, which is about 250 miles away. I got there OK, but on the way back to Tahoe a few days later disaster struck in Sacramento: Broken Serpentine belt! God damn it.
Got towed to Niello Audi and they got me back on the road quickly. I've gotta say, that was the absolute best experience I've ever had with an Audi dealership. You Sacto people are lucky!
Finally got back to Tahoe/Reno in one piece, got the car smogged and registered, and decided to go on a night MTB ride with my Dad and my best friend Nick in Celebration:
Sycip, yes plz:
The trail ahead:
Uh, Camo?
Drove back to Cardiff trouble free.
