Box looks real good, I would carpet it though. I have a Memphis 12" sub also and love it for the price.

looks good, you do the box yourself? Both those brands are pretty good. Hifonics makes the brutus amp which is a monster and memphis makes some clean subs that still get loud. There a shop across the street from me thats an authorized dealer and their demo truck gets insane with all MA audio equipment.

Re: Finally added some BOOM BOOM

    Looks smart.

How do you find it for getting bass into the cabin? I've got my old Kenwood Powerslide amp and a pair of Kicker 12" and they don't seem to cope too well. Think I may need a bigger amp. Had the system in my old car and it damn near took your head off but then that was an Avant so only had the parcel shelf flap thingy to shift the noise through as opposed to the back seat and metal shelf.

if you take the rear speakers out the rear deck the bass gets through pretty well.

Re: Finally added some BOOM BOOM

Was looking at that but then it only leaves my amped Focal 5¼" components up front to provide the rest of the sounds :(

Could add some Avant rear cards as they have speakers in the doors like the fronts.

Re: Finally added some BOOM BOOM

you dont necesarily need a hi/lo if you have the bose system as far as i know. there are alreayd low level outputs going to the factory amp that you just have to tap into. theres a writeup on audidiy.com that shows how. you can use one but not needed.

goody, what 5 channel is it and how do u like it. I was interested in making my setup a bit cleaner by eliminatng the mono and 4 channel and just running a 5 channel. pm me so this doesnt get too off topic. thanks in advance,

I am non bose and we used a level line input and just tapped it into the rear speaker to get the RCA's. Then ran the other wires to the fuse box and got power off of the power posts.

Re: Finally added some BOOM BOOM

That's an interesting enclosure you have there.

I haven't owned Memphis stuff, but the setups I've heard with them are good.
The Hifonics amps though, I have one now and had two previously. The 4ch I use now is mounted in the same location as yours. When it rains I have to leave the seat folded down, otherwise the moisture/humidity puts my amp into protection mode. Apparently the trunk stays humid enough to do that, even if I never open my windows, sunroof, etc.

did you get the amp power from a power post? (75X)?? way too much draw for that.

you should only pull the remote line from there if that. the amp positive should be pulled straight from the battery. too much of an amp draw for the posts under the knee bolster

Re: Finally added some BOOM BOOM

amp draw is the amount of AMPS your amplifier(music) draws (pulls) from the electrical system. The amount of amps needed depends on the size of the amplifier and it's efficiency. Thats why 4 gauge wire or larger is used to power the amplifier. The wire can transport more amperage without melting or causing fires. the posts under the dash i would only recommend for a draw of a maximum of maybe 30 amps. it already has some stuff connected to it from factory and if you add anything like a gauge or something then its probably already close to its maximum output.

In essence connecting a stereo amplifier is unsafe since it is drawing more than the wires of the post con provide and cause a fire or short. Definitely get amplifier install kit and run it from the battery. i wouldnt recommend anything smaller than 4 gauge for most amps. I'm currently running 0ga. for my stereo install.

I see from the pics you have an 8gauge wiring setup. that would be fine if you dont go burping it all day just make sure the ground goes to a good chassis ground and the power goes to the battery directly. fused of course :)

what he said, short story you may melt the post if your amp draws tto much power. my amp connected dirctly too the battery makes my headlights dim... draws alot of amps. easy way to tell is look at the fuses on the amp itself and add them up.
