Fuel in boost guage vac line?

So I installed a new AWE vent gauge and tapped into the fuel pressure regulator line as shown in the directions. Everything seemed to be working fine for over a month, then I noticed there was some kind of fluid just behind the fitting on the back of the boost gauge. After taking it apart and draining some fluid on to a paper towel it smells like and appears to be fuel. AWE suggested that it could be the FPR going bad allowing some fuel to seep into the vac system??... has anyone else experienced something like this before?

    Thanks in advance.

FPR. the diaphragm rips and lets fuel flow past into the vaccuum system
