    Re: Quick Diode question???

You already have a 4 Bar FPR - The most you are going to get even semi-reliably is 10PSI before you start hitting the hard fuel cut on the AEB. When the ECU sees a lean condition, it just cuts fuel hard, it feels like you hit a 2x4 in the middle of the road every time it hits.

    Re: Quick Diode question???

Believe me, I tried everything a while ago: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...t=mbc+fuel+cut

I tried 5 BAR FPR, I tried all sorts of tweaks and different MBC setups.

The best I could do was 10-11PSI, but one small change in the weather or some other condition and BAM - hard fuel cut, get under the hood, tweak something, turn it down, whatever, just to get 10-11 PSI...it wasn't worth it really.

Well if you buy a ecu flash new getting another program is another 100 bucks.. Same goes with the BT files.

    Something to consider.

Does the US AEB differ from the UK example in spec? My 96 AEB runs at 14.5psi and runs on 98-99RON fuel (will run on 95 but it doesn't seem as willing to go).

From my understanding, tweeking the fuel pressure won't achieve much as the injector can only flow a set amount of fuel governed by the time the injector is open. Upping the pressure behind the injector whilst having an effect, is generally minimal and a loss of spray pattern can often occur which can itself cause problems.

    Re: Quick Diode question???

The stock AEB engines were running 7-8 PSI from the factory. Chipped, 15-20 PSI is attainable, with some folks claiming to hit 23 PSI with tweaked setups. I regularly run 18-19 with my current setup and have never been able to consistently hit 20...

The 5 BAR FPR was nice for something - it definitely seemed to add some torque down low, but I lost it up top because, as you said, the injectors couldn't flow enough fuel. I actually got lean codes at the high end because of it - switching back to a 4 BAR FPR got rid of the codes.

The only thing I miss about the 5 BAR is the beautiful burbbly backfires on deceleration that I would get with the additional fuel...but it's not worth blowing up my engine for that...

    Re: Quick Diode question???

How do you find the air charge temps?

When on the rollers it was commented mine were high which was knocking the power back. Been looking at adding the S4's additional intercooler for the other side to try and help matters as well as adding the S4's vented arch liners to aid flow over the cooler

    Re: Quick Diode question???

so you're talking about running dual sidemounts? or replacing your factory for the s4 ?

    Re: Quick Diode question???

Running a pair of sidemounts, one either side of the bumper as per the S4 setup. If the setup can chill the boost from a pair of turbo's it should cope with my single dinky K03.

Or at least, that's the thinking.
